Re: Latest DeGoey Rumour
A high-price, high-risk investment. With our dreadful record in this area, this reeks of desperation and will almost certainly end badly for us.

He is an ok depth player who hopefully isn’t being paid too much.

Re: Paton
I think people forget how good this kid was before his very serious leg injury. Similar to guys that do knees and miss an entire season, they usually take another 12 months to recover their form. I'm confident Paton will be back to his best in 2023. I’m not sure that he was all that good. A good ov...

Re: Delistings
Joyce Highmore Allison Kent Bytel Geary Hannebery Byrnes I would add Ryder to that list for reasons that everyone is aware of. Chronic Achilles problem and age, means that he will struggle to put consecutive games together. Marshall is better value if Paddy is not playing. Paddy will make a wonderf...

Re: Just Announced
I think Clarkson was the brains behind the operation and will be a success. We got the 2 assistants - Ratten and Rath - probably at a bargain price and they aren’t up to it without the brains.

Teflon You realise Rath was in the same role at Hawthorn in their 3 peat? Are we talking 2013/14/15 ? 7 - 9 years ago ! We are always chasing the innovative sides aren’t we? I remember when we got our players to work in the gym to put on bulk because Leigh Matthews won premierships at Brisbane with...

Re: Season over , effing joke
Sincs Roma and the Capt are the only quality players we've had this year , who maintained a professional standard needed to be successful. The rest of the team have either been bog average or gone backwards . Is Sinclair bog average, or has he gone backwards? I'm thinking Sincs = Sinclair, the firs...

Re: Hanneberry done
We are an absolute circus from top to bottom. With clowns running the show. How much more can St.Kilda supporters endure 1 flag in the history of the club. Watching last night could not help but notice one highly paid player with a smile on his face to me obviously not playing for the jumper and cl...

Re: Roo on McEvoy - Whack!
I can clearly remember at the time being disappointed but not entirely surprised at McEvoy being traded. He was particularly weak at ruck contests. Was good around the ground and overhead. To his credit he worked at his game and improved considerably and it is to St Kilda’s shame that they were not ...

Re: Hanneberry done
To me it is such a no-brainer.
He should not be offered another contract. Too much of a risk and takes a list spot that can be used on a developing player.
If he is retained then you really have to worry about the List Manager and coach.

Robert Elphinstone.
Watched him in a practice match and said he ran like a Giraffe and would never make it. Unfortunately his father was standing in front of me and gave me a mouthful.
Pleased to say his father knew best.

Re: Our recruiting is ass backwards
What we need the most is a dangerous attacking midfielder like de Goey: preferably the man himself. (Well, TBH, preferably Petracca, but that ship sailed long ago.) de Goey is a big risk, but that’s why he’s possibly available. If we can get him, we take him. We also need another quality tall defen...

Out of interest. When Doggies were smashing us Q1 in clearance who did Ratts send to Smith and Bont to at least stem the easy extraction? Did nothing I could see. Nothing. 40 down, corridor a freeway, doggies moving the footy at will and we're chipping across the ground for no benefit. The coaches ...

Re: Team v Dockers
By what criteria should Joyce be judged?
I would suggest the most important one is not to be out marked in one-on-one contests. At least get the ball to the ground.
