Re: Scott Watters

First time coach in his first year, I didn't expect too much and feared a disaster and that didn't happen.

Second year expecting players to be more familiar with the game-plan, coach to be more comfortable with his positition, aggressive trading and recruitment and good times ahead.

Re: BJ offered $1.9m over three years

It is a huge decision for him because he will never be as marketable as he is now. Money, security, loyalty, mateship, public perception are all things he needs to consider. It appears the club is making a reasonable offer. Often it is much easier to get more by going to a new employer than getting ...

Re: Johnathan Giles?

Ask any midfielder if he would prefer to play to a ruckman winning the hit-outs or to one losing the hit-outs and I'm sure I know what they would say. McEvoy's poor ruckwork is certainly an issue.

Re: Lenny Hayes = Champion

It took him a few years to establish himself because I can remember thinking that he needed to lift his game or he would be sent on his way.

Just a reminder that players can take a few years to find their feet and you can't afford to expect too much too soon.

I was wrong

A chance to be honest and admit mistakes ... some of us may have more to confess than others!

I said Geary wouldn't be able to hold down the back pocket and wanted Steven to play there ... I was wrong.

I think with the support that he has with top high performance staff, the academy and the abundance of coaches that he will shine next year. No softly, softly from me I'm looking forward to a break-out season.

Re: Barrett Gossip Update...

Firstly I would only offer Goddard a 3 year contract. 4 years is too much for anyone. First Tier: Hayes Riewoldt Second Tier: Dal Santo Fisher Dempster Milne Goddard Third Tier: Montagna Schneider Then the rest. I would offer Goddard a contract in line with those in the second tier. I can't imagine ...

Re: Clinton Jones

From a theoretical point of view I believe that there is a place for a tagger. A bloke that can wear the opposition player like a second skin and negate their influence on the game.
I think Clint Jones is our best tagger.
Keep him.

I reckon Blake will and should go around again.

Got a huge tank, can play against talls and smalls and pinch hit in the ruck. And he will come cheap.

I think you underestimate Goodes, Mumford, Okeefe and Reid if he isn't will be I also think Richards is severely underrated so yet..... they have stars for sure Interesting. Goodes and Mumford have missed quite a few games. Okeefe has been average, Reid just so so. Not sure that I agree that they h...

Why are Sydney on top of the ladder?

I don't have the answer to this question but the answer may help us understand our future.

To me they don't seem to have many superstars - maybe they have a home ground advantage but what else have they got going for them ??

Interested in your opinion.

Re: Tall Forwards

Certainly not our strongest area. McEvoy and Stanley will probably ruck and play forward while Jay Lever (198 cm) and Jordan Staley (194 cm) are already in the system and are being fast-tracked. Siposs (189cm) plays reasonably tall. Would suggest that recruiting will strongly target KPP's. Have said...

Re: Worst game of the year ?

How I love unimpressive wins. I remember walking from Windy Hill in the 1980's after Essendon had beaten us by 'only' 5 or 6 goals and hearing Bomber supporters saying how poor they had been. I thought how fantastic it would be to win a match and be able to complain that you hadn't played well. Poor...

Ian Stewart - best player I have ever seen - bar none.
Great balance, good overhead for his size, great awareness, courageous and of course that superb left foot. 5 remains my favourite number.

Best wishes Stewie.

Not a bad summary by Mark Robinson: " ST KILDA AT the start of the season you wondered whether St Kilda would tumble or surge under new coach Scott Watters. The Saints are 6-6 and in eighth spot, so the jury is still out. Still, they should play finals. Watters has found a nice balance between ...

Betstar are offering $2 for all favourites this round.

So Melbourne can be taken for $2 against GWS - ($1.31 on most other sites)
good odds on WB etc, max $50
money for jam

Warning: "gambling is addictive etc etc etc"
