Was a little whippersnapper in the glory days of the mid to late 60s, so choosing the Saints was easy. But there was a strange occurrence at state school around Grade 4. It was finals time, and the school chose a day when every kid could wear their team's footy colours. Great, I thought, we'll see h...

Will be handy when it comes time to dismantle the Port Adelaide forward and defensive structures, which have
been a bogey for the Saints since, oh, 1825.

If you think you'll be at most games at Etihad, and you have the bucks, the Level 3 reserved seat is a good-value option. $60 for a dedicated seat, somewhere in front rows of the top deck for all home games, that's 9 games at Etihad, and presumably something for the 2 home games at the G in 2011. Wo...

They've been informed about the Collingwood premiership.
They've had a meeting, and voted to go back underground.

The usual 20:20 hindsight from Mike. Poor man must be a little giddy from jumping on and off all the bandwagons this year. Cats, Bulldogs, Saints, Pies, he's been on them all. How many columns has he started this year with the words "OK, I was wrong about..." He's a fair weather traveller,...

What is particularly annoying...

1. It was Collingwood. 2. We hardly fired a shot. 3. It was Collingwood. 4. Outplayed in almost every position. 5. We allowed Collingwood a "victory quarter" where they could high-five and hug each other, and the fans could cheer every stat. 6. We gave that toad Joffa a chance to revel in ...

Agree, it was a flogging in the centre. If the Saints did get it, it was a kick under pressure to the opposition, or to a contest. I would have loved to see McEvoy or Koschitzke smash the ball forward at least once, or at least run through Jolly (Jolly FFS) with a big hip and shoulder, and show him ...

With about 10 minutes to go there was a Saints mark and a long-range shot at goal. A Saints forward
decided not to shepherd the ball through, and a Pies defender marked on the goal line. Granted, the game was well and truly over,
but who was that Saints forward ?

It is a nightmare. Beaten by a better team and beaten in almost every position. Beaten tactically too. But no other team could have done any better.
Collingwood has raised the bar. We have to raise it again.
Time for a neat whiskey and a bottle of red.

7 goal first quarter would stop it fast. It's so annoying because it's very effective - curse the Collingwood CS genius who came up with it, or rather, stole it from English football. It only really comes out when they're on a roll, but when it arrives you feel that the Pies "own" the stad...

Got mine by about 12:10.
Picking M, N, or Q didn't seem to work, so I chose "reserved seat", and
that coughed up a place in Q44 after about a minute.
Pity we couldn't have the "Ezy Ticket" print-out option.

Schneider's Goal.

A minute before quarter time, about a minute after Nick R. had kicked our 2nd. A remarkable goal that we shouldn't have scored, but shows the mindset of the playing group. Really took the sting out of the Magpie blitz, making their first quarter assault suddenly not so impressive. Schneider gets fre...

I hope we've fixed this problem...

Earlier this season Carlton and Essendon applied the first quarter blowtorch and we were found wanting. Both the Blues and Bombers were aided by a succession of crap frees in their forward 50, but their fast pressure game rattled our mids and defence. Absolute plodders like Jarrod Waite became game-...
