Inside football story - Saints Accuracy questioned
An interesting article suporting my thoughts on our ball movement and forward structure and general indirect play. Read on if you are interested. Article is by Brett Anderson - Inside Football. Over the past four seasons, there has been a steady decline in St Kilda’s accuracy rate in front of goal...

Just heard Lenny on ABC radio. He mentioned that they have not been playing as a team and that all 22 have to put in. I dont think this is about all 22 players putting in. I think its players playing for each other, not just themselves. It might just be because its the first time I've watched a gam...

I thought he did still often play at CHF? Anyhow definitely agree that we looked like we had many other options to goal (or for behinds  ) The most pleasing part of this game to me was that we did the team things like prorecting the ball carrier. I haven't seen enough of this for some time. T...

What was evident is Kosi has completely lost his ability to ruck. Blake was more competitive. Yep, for mine the major difference between the teams. 1st half King in the ruck - well on top 3rd quarter Hille smashed Kosi, who looked totally at sea, and delivered the ball on a plate to his onballers. ...

I'll tell you the five that DON'T frustrate me: Hayes, Montagna, S Fisher, Schnieder. Hold on, that's only four. Those that dont frustrate me are: 1 Lenny - ball getter, 2 BJ - hero, he hits targets usually , takes quality marks and protects players. 3 Joey - long kicking a treat, 4 King - doing so...

Herald-Sun article on Tibunal penalties
No bias shown here of course. How lucky are some players. I just hope teh AFL really trip up on this in the future and cop a flogging in some court. I continually get angry every time I hear, see or think about Bakes injustice. Article follows. Rules and penalties take king-hit Mark Robinson | April...

If Gehrig played for Geelong today he would have kicked 8 goals. He provides the same service every week, it is up to the midfield to utilize his talent. If our midfield is unable to provide good delivery then yes, he should be dropped, but in a true shootout he is still a very damaging player. Not...

It's a very different side now than what it was back then. Oh so true and consider a few games rules that have changed. 1 Ruck duels - no longer allowed to attack the person with knee. Cox is now a sensational ruckman. He was easy beaten previously when certain tactics were applied. 2 The role of t...

Goddard for kicking coach
Wouldn't be much harm in this.
He is the team's master in my opinion. Ther are others who could be of value but they handball too much when they need to kick it.
Goddard's ball disposal skill brings uncertainty to the opposition's mind.

Agree accuracy was a killer this week... Ideally what I would like to see this week is... HF: C.Gardiner Riewoldt Gilbert FF: Milne Koschitzke Schneider To hell with flooding, we are a better side than Essendon, our midfield is better, our forward line has the potential to destroy their backline an...

Gram is fast. Sam Fisher is quick. X Clarke is very fast. Milne is quick. Max is extremely quick. Dal is fast. Schneider has zip. We're not slow. We just play slow. Sam Fisher is not quick but is a solids runner who gives his all. Dal is not quick but can go reasonable distances at reasonable pace....

Re: More of the Cats players should have been reported
I saw that the guy who hit Dal was reported. But what about the guy who tripped Montagna? That could have broken his ankle, and that was clearly a reportable offence. And what about the guy who knocked out X? That was just wrong! Not even a report for 'rough play'. Sheesh!!! This is not sour grapes...

Unfortunately G's second goal was after the final siren, when we were down by 48 and the game was done and dusted an hour earlier. Prior to that that he was beaten mercilessly by Scarlett. Umpires didn't lose us this game, we did. G should have kicked 5, 6 7 etc etc. - he didn't.... G gets flogged ...

Agree, we lost on Saturday due to our foot skills and goal accuracy, not because of endeavor. A few times throughout the match, we'd control the game for 5-6 minutes, kick 3 points, they'd run it up the other end with their awesome foot skills and kick a goal. Things I noticed throughout the game -...

There are few surer things in football..... Seriously, I reckon Mooney will get one week for the trip, and the guy who hit Dal will be cited but get no suspension because of prior good record or whatever. West will get 2-3 weeks and win on appeal because X will be deemed to be at fault for not bein...

Re: Toughness and Hardness
This team used to be tough and hard and feared however unfortunately we haven't been able to replace guys like Powell, Hamill and Black who were hard at the ball and strong over the ball The amount of times Geelong broke our tackles tonight to get a handball away was embarrasing whereas we would ge...

7 goal loss with 2 less scoring shots and 2 out on the full from 30m out  If this is your positive hold that thought. 4 goals 7 behinds in the first quarter with super effort is the reason for the reasonablt level scoring shot tally. Outside of that, flogged in clearances again, kicking all a...

Agree Woolongong These 3 players are not the only reason we lost today. Harve's was injured. We still dont run as hard as other teams and give up easy turnovers from short hadpassess and poor kicking (even when not under pressure). Oh we cant kick eay goals either. How many other AFL teams have this...
