Re: Jon Patton
Patton is struggling because he is immobile and mark kick blokes with NO AGILITY like him, McCartin and Schache are bloody dinosaurs in modern footy. I wouldn't classify Membrey as a key forward at all either.[/quote] Your point on Membrey is a reasonable one. If he has endurance I would put him int...

Not sure about that as Oliver is no longer a feature in media after his fall over incident against the Eagles.Enrico_Misso wrote:That girlie act will dog Hogan for the rest of his career.

Re: Not angry. Just...disappointed so far
It's because we don't get angry and demand change that we must accept part of the blame Wouldn't happen at HAwks We just doze along hoping for the next messiah and place people on pedestals that clearly don't deserve to be there Now thats what I call a wise sage. Its what I call sensible. We spend ...

Re: Worst forwardline setup!!!
A few of us suggested a few weeks ago Carlisle to CHF, even though it would leave a fair sized hole in the backline, but there were no takers. I’ve heard all the stuff about poor delivery, wouldn’t matter if you have Plugger and Carey up there etc, etc. It’s a factor, sure, but I don’t buy it as a ...

Lions. 20 to 26 Win Roos. 16 to 23 Loss Crows. 17 to 21 Loss Cats. 23 to 25 Loss GWS. 18 TO 20 Draw Total. 94 to 115 s*** and we haven had our perennial Pert game against the Eagles yet where we have somewhere between 7 and 11 to Eagles 21 - 29 frees. We obviously don't tackle right as we give up s...

Haha. What about the posters who claim that he is elite and A grade. He is NOT. I've said it adnauseum. He was drafted for his kicking skills. He looks like a beautiful kick, as most left footers do. But he's actually a very ordinary kick and it's as frustrating as hell. We've also said it too. The...

Re: Richo has lost the players
Clearly the players are fed up with his cluelessness and his boring moronic use of the english language. He is a suburban standard coach. The only reason he got the job is because he has a 'stable personality'. Look at Seb Ross. Clearly he isnt trying. Actually doesnt give two s***s. Just going thr...

Re: Richo has lost the players
Richo lost the players half way through last season I reckon- we just fizzled out Yeah but what worries me more is that the club provides extensions for what reason? Stability? Its got ot be on performance and accountability. Looking at the team I'm not sure we understand leadership, discipline and...

Re: Richo has lost the players
Has looked to me that Richo hasn’t “had” them all year. Completely demoralised bunch and the buck stops with the coach. But apparently, according to our resident ITK on the club staff, it’s nothing to do with the coaches at all...... Well we had better heed this comment based on our widely respecte...

Re: Handball Received
I reckon Brereton is correct that the Saints need to be sure that if the receiving player of a handball is sat flatfooted there needs to be outsiders calling for another handball. The kicks just fail and are a given turnover. The second person to handball should be able to develop time to hit up som...

Re: Is it time for Bilings to play HBF?
Given his lack of hardness/pressure if he goes there we just want to make sure he can be accountable defensively. If so I'm all for it. Big fan of Billings and hope he turns his season around soon! sounds like a good plan for him to gain confidence and physical hardness / pressure with some straigh...

Re: Is it time for Bilings to play HBF?
Just a thought. After a good Round 1, his goal kicking, skills and output are now stagnating. Maybe Richo needs to throw him down back on a HBF or play a sweeper role behind the play to get his confidence back. He has the skills for such a role, but I doubt he has ever played in the backline before...

Re: Ben Long, the only positive so far?
IMO Hickey needs to improve substantially in ruck contests, and I have doubts whether he can. Billy has hardly pushed for selection since he got back on the field - is he fit? However, I would prefer a fully fit Billy to Hick. Some sort of control and presence in the knockouts is vital, even winnin...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
Yes...but as mentioned, when I started supporting the Saints with Burns, Joffa, Muir, Perovic, Sidebottom, Carl, etc, at least the opposition genuinely feared for their health at the end of our 10-20 goal hiding. Plenty of mongrel and character, not this GWS-Lite rubbish. Made me laugh this. I reca...

Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
Personally I don't think I have been this unhappy with the way the club is going. We have a right to have a certain level of expectation, which is just not being met. On field is an embarrassment. I don't think there is any other way to put it. I'm just so sick of seeing 7 goals 15 behinds each wee...

It's over, PS. Love the humour and optimism, but it's season over. We are not even in the same galaxy as Sydney as a football club and team. And now, I'm going to turn on the iTunes and listen to a little song about our 2018 season, from the legendary Big O, called "It's over!" Glad someo...

Re: Trade back into the Superdraft!!!!!
I think we're going to trade players, whether it be for draft picks or players, but it would be foolhardy to trade Billings, Gresham or Acres. Madness in fact. Bruce is one that comes to mind as tradeable, I don't see where he fits going forward, given we have Membrey, McCartin, Battle and Marshall...

Unfortunately it cannot overcome performance anxiety, which is the major culprit in front of goal.

Re: Low Scores and Inaccurate Kicking Since Round 1
Conversion is only half of it. I remember Roo being particularly inaccurate at times after successive long leads. He was stuffed. Our ability to turn it over consistently burns calories big time as they chase bums from defence. Small forwards not pressing up under forward marking contests. Gresh and...

So...he says, if we play our cards just right we might win a 1st round, Number 1 draft pick. There's stiff comp in the cellar but if anyone can choke, bumble and slide down the ladder whilst sucking the life out of their faithful, it's St Kilda. Lets hope the boys keep giving their best effort...E....
