Re: Can anyone remember a more bleak outlook than now ?
Mav played injured in 2017 after doing his ankle. Richo now admits Armo picked too soon. Will he never learn. Keeps Billings in, when in the past he dropped him. Should drop JB + Gresh because they're struggling, just like Bruce last year kept playing, keep playing guys based on form of a long long...

Re: Petracca v Paddy put to rest
Put Paddy in any top team right now and he kicks 50-60 goals a season. Josh Kennedy would struggle to kick a score in our forward line at the moment. Plugger would struggle to kick a goal in that team. Paddy's development has been cruelled by his diabetes, concussions, a terrible forward structure,...

Re: Petracca v Paddy put to rest
It doesn't really matter who picked who does it? We could go back in single every draft and say we should have picked him over him. You draft who you draft at the time thinking they're a better player or what is required for the needs of the list. We got Paddy. They got Petrecca. Both clubs just ne...

Re: Petracca v Paddy put to rest
I'm not going to try adding anything in the Paddy vs petracca debate because I think it is still a little early However I can remember the very same flog argument being raised a few years ago for the reason not going after dusty martin Yep, was going to say the same thing about the Tigers trying to...

Re: Petracca v Paddy put to rest
Circumstantial evidence your honour ( regarding whether the dog bite is not the real cause). You normally get a judgement on these things on who is the better draft pick at the the end of their careers. It's not a sprint- it's a marathon and I'd say that Petracca is still slightly in front. I think...

Re: Do the players fear?
Do they fear the coach? Do they fear that they'll be dropped? You have guys like Billings and Gresham who continue to get a game week after week when they deserve to be dropped and I just don't get it. If it's good enough for Armo to be dropped, then bloody well pull the trigger on Billings and Gre...

Re: Where is the leadership?
I think it’s pretty clear that as a club, we’re lacking on field leaders (not to mention others)... My rant on Facebook follows. While Leadership on the ground isn't everything, its a major impact on how the team performs. Great pressure Saints for the first three quarters. Conversion is a problem ...

Re: Jake Carlisle Must Play Forward
Completely disagree. Jake isn't the answer to the forward line and by moving him forward you will weaken the defence more than you will strengthen the forwards. Problem is Paddy & Bruce. They are crap at present. Either they get better really quickly or we change the was we play and go for all ...

I don't think so. He wrapped them up all game... If he got his mitts around it Davis had no hope. Unfortunate His hands were to flat the ball bounced out and then Davis hit the ball away with his fist. Davis going for the ball, no free. Carlisle dropped the mark but Jack Steven delivered the ball t...

Re: Dal Santo on attack as Saints make a stand
I don't buy the over coached synopsis, rather they are poorly coached. They do not present any options while the ball moves forward and then we get stagnated in the middle or on the outside of the 50 and then we long bomb. Players should be taking leads and proving targets but they don't they stand...

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2018-04-16/dal-santo-on-attack-as-saints-make-a-stand Really interesting read by an astute former player who has no agenda and is probably making a genuine and frank assessment. Re: Sloan update
I spoke to a work collegue who knows Roary Sloan’s parents as good family friends. Asked her if Sloan was coming to the Saints. She said that Sloan had no interest in leaving the crows. He said “Why would I play for a team that has so far to go, I won’t make a difference to them.” “If I go to Saint...

Re: Dunstan should be our next skipper
He's not ready yet, but I think he will be our next skipper and hopefully sooner rather than later. While I agree in principle about his leadership qualities I reckon a more senior guy is needed. Luke may need development for the future role but this would be about 2-5 years away IMO. I really am a...

Re: So much Richo hate.
I don't hate Richo. He seems to be a nice guy. But as a coach the things that you look for in the team do not seem to be there at present. - Younger players developing and improving - Gameplan: Players playing as a team with an obvious gameplan on display (or rather gameplans as most teams will nor...

Re: Match Thread Saints v Crows Round 3 2018
Disgraceful game but at least I see why we drafted Long finally. He looks like a classy pick up. Not sure we’ll have the same coach by round 23. Don't think getting rid of Richo will actually improve much. Yes their competitiveness is not sustainable and that may be a lack of playing effort for the...
