Re: Game Thread Saints v Pies
What did you all expect! Seriously its kids v men. Get a grip ffs Exactly!! People need to chill. The effort is there. We have plenty of men, it's just they are mostly playing terribly. Monty, Schneider, CJ, Steven all playing terribly. Can't kick, can't lay a tackle, no composure. And in schneider...

Re: Game Thread Saints v Pies
Mids getting smashed. forward line is a dead fish. Just weak as piss. Not sure how you can blame the forwards, the ball has hardly made it past the centre and when it does they are simply incapable of putting it to advantage. Just while typing it is just like there are ten pies players free as soon...

Re: Game Thread Saints v Pies
Starting to lose faith in the coach. Every player just bangs it on the boot as soon as they get it. Can't just be a coincidence. That style of footy went out in the 90s

Re: Game Thread Saints v Pies
That is probably the most putrid qtr of footy I have seen the saints play in ten years. 7/10 for effort, 0/10 for composure, disposal efficiency and decision making. Seriously if Monty can't learn after 10 years not to bomb it out of defence into the corridor, what hope do we have? Collingwoods best...

Blokes who love playing us
Having watched and read various commentators getting stuck in to Travis Cloke, and knowing as sure as night follows day that he will play a blinder this week and kick 5 as he always does.. It got me pondering which players love playing the saints the most. Jack Reiwoldt is obvious and probably wins ...

Re: Put a line through...
Schneider if fit is in our best 5 players and is playing more as a mid this season than ever. He hasn't hit 30 yet. 26 possies last night, kicked one and missed two he would normally kick. Was close to BOG really. Why his value is being questioned is well beyond me I have to say.

Re: Worried. Wake up call (to me)
I'm really surprised at the level of angst on here about this loss. I think a relatively good start to the season has done more harm than good for the supporters if the majority of posts are anything to go by. Prior to round 1 I would have thought that most would have looked our list and then took o...

Re: Armitage
yet another football opinion thread ruined by P66's pointless baiting. and we wonder why post numbers are low... anyway, seems Seb Ross would be a good fit for Armo, and in very good form with Sandi. Wouldn't have thought it would be major issue resting Armo if he is really sore and would benefit fr...

Re: Time to go Clinton Jones
As the title suggests... How can we really keep a player that looks for the handball repeatedly when running into goal by himself? Can he actually not kick the football? This happened 4 times tonight and is getting embarrassing that the bloke cannot and does not kick. Clint Jones has more goal assi...

Re: Round 3 Predictions
We just about fell over the line at home against a side that finished stone motherless last year and has never won outside of western Sydney. I loved it all the same, but we will get steamrolled this arvo. No great issue against a very good side, in serious form, on the otherside of the country. Jus...

Re: big mac and the pelican...
Stinger - you raise an interesting point. Pelican was fixated with his plan to get 3 picks inside 20 but would Macca and Nds got us Boyd ? It's possible. Which would have left us with Boyd, Billings + pick 23 - pretty interesting proposition . All speculative I guess. On another note - the title to...

Was really good today and was singled out by the coach post match for social praise. In particular, all the things his does outside of the standard indicators. Coaches loves him and I can understand why. Hard, tough, relentless, gives everything he has and more, makes life easier for every other tea...

Re: Beau Maister
I Love his effort and the 1%s he does. But are we really saying that's it is good enough in a professional AFL team to have a player that cannot catch the footy? Seriously. He can't catch it. That's not a criticism, it's a cold hard fact. I don't care how many packs he crashes or how many decoy runs...

Re: Beau Maister
No doubt he tries hard, crashes packs, works well as a decoy... Yada yada yada. But I have never seen a player spill so many marks, especially since he does so well to get in the clear or in the right position. He just cannot hold them. It was comical. I know it's poor that's people give him the Bro...

Farren RAY never gets plaudence when he plays well and he has been great in our first too games. Very much an under appreciated player when going well ! Look, I like Faz and he can play really well, last week was a good example. But you cannot seriously think that was a good game. His has the full ...

Re: Negatives
My one major negative was the fitness or should I say lack of fitness for Savage. He came in as a sub late in the third and by half way through the 4th he was running up and down on the spot, calling to the bench asking to come off. gWS players were just running away from him with ease. He had a ful...

Would much rather have a forum of people making calls - big, small, right, wrong, ludicrous. You know people who write posts with an opinion on footy and saints related matters. I mean, if it was just a forum of people who seeming spend every minute of their waking lives criticizing everyone else's ...

Re: Post your apologies to Clinton Jones here...
I don't u/s what there is to apologise for Clint Jones today was our senior and most experienced midfielder He was playing in a midfield that was underdone/prepared and against an oppsotion midfield that was not amongst the better ones. He should have been amongst if not our best midfielder... and ...

You are seriously clueless. Someone has to win the footy an get it out to the blokes who can finish.roskilde wrote:JOnes is the only player in the game who you hope has less posessions.
a 30 possie game for us is a disaster, 30 chances for that indecisive simpleton to murder!

Re: Jimmy Gwilt
Well if the comments of the coaching staff are to believed it looks like he has his speed back so perhaps there is hope for the fro yet! I reckon he will prove a few people wrong but if we are getting pumped week in week out, he and the rest of the defence will look pretty ordinary regardless
