Re: Watters reassured By Summers and Thompson

Was he really joking or is that just a belated cover up for his gaff?

Re: SEN Allnight Appetite

We've all known for months he was going to be delisted. Surely it didn't come as a surprise to Ledger himself, regardless of whether the club told him or his Twitter feed did.

Re: Best Milne memories

My fondest memory of Milney is the way he always entertained the crowd. One minute we had our hands in the air in exhilaration and the next minute our hands in the air with exasperation. That's Milney! You just had to ride the wave - marvelling at the mercurial brilliance and laughing off the occass...

Couldn't even name any of them.

We are below par this year, subsequently we get the no name umps.

Re: Free Kick Count up to round 11

The question is - why? The pattern is too consistent to just be the Saints getting a bad rub of the green. And as much as we all feel persecuted at times, I honestly can't believe the umpires (or the Football Gods) are out to get us. There must be a reason why the free kick count is consistently aga...

Re: Buddy, Rioli, and now Jack Riewoldt

There were only one or two of Riewoldt's goals that could be "blamed" (if that's the right word) on our defence. Most of his shots at goal came as a result of quick, clean ball out of the middle. When a forward of his calibre gets service like that from a quality midfield (i.e. Deledio, Co...

Re: Milne, Saad, Millera & Schnieder

I like the youthful energy and forward pressure of Milera and Saad in the forward line, so perhaps Schneider could serve us better in another role. What about re-inventing him as a small defender setting us up on half back? It would be a similar transmission to what Hawthorn have done with Guerra. H...

Is there anyone at Freo we might look at as a realistic trade for Zac? Do they have a full back to trade? If we're going to give Zac away we're going to need a replacement full back. Unless we want to throw young Simpkin to the wolves or waste Walsh at full back. It just makes no sense to trade Zac...

Re: Where to next.....serious thinking time

Wing: sam gilbert.....i reckon it would work, link and carry out of defense, back up nick winmar Wing: gram...still best outside ball carrier, back up peake That pairing gives us good run through the middle to break the lines, but I'm worried by their disposal on the run. It could be turnover city ...

Ross is a very astute coach. It would be naive to suggest he isn't capable to adjusting his immediate priorities from winning the GF to rejigging or rebuilding for our next tilt.

He had 18 at half time....on mmm he was given our best with dal at ht 18 touches in a half is great, but if they're either ineffectual or outright turnovers it's of no benefit to the team. I've got no problems with Gram's ability to find the footy. I can even live with the occasional squibbed conte...

Re: So what's the team for the rest of the year?

Here's my preferred team to play out 2011 and hopefully get to the finals B: Gwilt, Dawson, Baker HB: Clarke, Blake, Fisher C: Smith, Armitage, Montagna HF: Ledger, Riewoldt, Stanley F: Milne, Koschitzke, Schneider Foll: McEvoy, Dal Santo, Goddard Int: Gilbert, Steven, Gram, Ray Pushing for selecti...

We could do worse than sending BJ to full forward to kick a few goals and regain some confidence. Even an out-of-form jellyhead of BJ's calibre can't keep missing set shots from 20m out.

What's with Goddard continually handballing last night? He's the best kick in the competition, yet was favouring hot potato handballs over his usually sublime 60m kicks. Hopefully it's just a symptom of poor form and a lack of confidence and not a conscious decision to change his style.

We won't win many games of footy with the kids for 2 years, because they are all about self-prreservation, and don't do the team things. Surely self-preservation for the young kids is all about doing the team things. If they don't do the team things and fulfil their role in the team, they'll be dro...

Seriously? Gram has contributed to more Bombers goals than Watson. Lots of touches from Gram, but he's setting up goal after goal for the Bombers with his poor disposal.

Quite simply we turn the ball over far too often. We just butcher the ball going inside 50 which means a) we don't score and b) the opposition scores easily on the rebound. If we can't find a way to use the ball effectively going into attack, we're going to spend a lot of time chasing tail.

Unfortunately Gram is finding a lot of the footy, which means plenty of easy possessions for the Bombers off half back after the turnover.
