If Brooks and Watts have been delisted, Kosi is now our only realistic option at full forward. It would be a big ask for Allen to debut as our primary target up forward. So to for Goddard to play that role coming off a knee reconstruction. Gilbert would be quick on the lead, but lacks the body stren...

It's an indictment on our club if a player the quality of Blake is able to poll 9th in the B&F. The players finishing 10th and lower need to really look at themselves.

Wow, I never thought I'd heard myself say this, but I'm genuinely wrapped that Fiora has re-signed and I think he can be an important player for us going forward.

On the whole that's a great rant/post and a pretty fair assessment of our current position and the board's performance. However there's a few points I would content, not in support of the board, but merely as an alternate view. The Board.....brought in an unknown quantity in Lyon and allowed him to ...

I mentioned Gilbert earlier as a left field option. He's got the pace on the lead, but would struggle to out mark the key defenders in a one-on-one contest. If we did play Gilbert from the goal square he'd have to be a different kind of full forward. Hawthorn went left field for a while with Mark Wi...

Sam and Goose do not have the pace to play FB.... Gilbert would have the pace to play FB, but at this stage he lacks the body strength to match up with the gorilla forwards. The way we've seen Gilbert develop this year, I wonder if he's destined for a key defensive position as first thought or whet...

Our Next Full Forward

With the departure of Gehrig after 8 years of magnificent service to the club we now need to find another full forward for season 2008 and beyond. So let's have a look at the contenders. Koschitzke - Clearly our best and most potent option at full forward. He's one of the best pack marks in the AFL ...

Gram The Midfielder

What do people think of developing Gram into a midfielder? Clearly we need pace in our midfield and Gram could certainly provide that. He also lacks a bit of accountability as a half back flank and therefore may be a better option further up the ground. With Sam Fisher, Gilbert and Raph Clarke all n...

Thanks for a magnificent analysis Dascman. That's one of the best posts this season. With form like that, it's a shame you don't post more often these days.

Yep, short term expectations were certainly lowered with the change of coach. Its unrealistic to expect Ross Lyon to come into the club, make changes to our game plan and have the players make the adjustments and improve immediately. That improvement was always going to take 12-24 months. Couple tha...

My theory is that it was not just the guys who didn't do a full pre-season but if my memory serves me correctly, Starcevich was staying/going/staying/going for about 6-8 weeks. Most of that time he was in Brisbane sorting out his personal problems. Any programs he had were left to Andrew Weller ?? ...

In that case Rix wins by default because nobody else had an impact at all.
