Re: The candy stripe returns
We're lucky at the Saints to have (a) a great home guernsey; (b) a great away guernsey; and (c) great alternative away guernseys (though I much prefer the candy stripes to the crusader cross and the German flag). It's the Belgian flag, not the German flag. https://i.redd.it/iz2jsmcpnlk31.png Althou...

Re: AFL Dont have a drug issue....
My mum used to tell me same thing!
But it's still not every sport, is it?
In fact, I'd doubt it's anywhere close to every sport.

Re: AFL Dont have a drug issue....
Who cares about the drug culture. It's rampant through all sports. Which sports? Which levels? Makes sense that it would be limited to full-time sports where the athletes are younger, are well paid, and have high disposable incomes. Limits it to mostly AFL/NRL doesn't it? Have a look at the major s...

Re: Outrageous
It is obvious that the AFL is clamping down on any contact to the head in order to prevent players being concussed. That's clearly not the case. There were multiple instances in the first 2 and-a-half rounds where head high contact hasn't been punished. What they are cracking down on is a bump that...

Re: Outrageous
Was similar to Plugger and Caven for me. Ran back blindly and ran into a guy leading. Will go to grave saying Plugger did nothing wrong. Wright just seemed to brace when he saw the Shitney guy was in his path Plugger raised the forearm - instant trouble. If he'd tucked his arm in, he'd have been OK...

Re: Outrageous
Absolutely nothing like Webster's incident.
But it was worse than SPP from Port - which got four.
Should have been 5 weeks minimum.

Re: Changes for next week
Caminiti for King Butler for Henry Schoenmaker for Wood I'm not suggesting The Shoe is a 'like for like' with Wood as a wingman but rather that he'll be in the mix to play in defence instead of Cordy. Jones to remain sub, not sure he is ready to play 120 minutes yet but can come on in 2nd half to a...

Dejavu. Aaron Hamill, knee 2 weeks, Tim Membrey (2023) knee, 2 weeks..... FMD! Crouch has played 20, 21, and 24 games in the past three seasons. Time to sink the slipper again, is it? Why not? I think many of you here need to read this https://resources.afl.com.au/afl/document/2024/03/13/bfe20552-9e6a-4464-88b6-509b31d77ed8/2024-AFL-Tribunal-Guidelines.pdf Firstly, what happened last year(s) is irrelevant, as stated the MRO can ignore their previous deliberations. Secondly in assessing i...

Re: Max King 1 match suspension rough conduct
Honestly I don’t know what the plan is here by the brains trust. I’ve watched it a few times. Just don’t see how he gets off. Take the week and move on. Save the appeal for when we really need it eg. finals. This could be double edged in my mind They should be arguing low impact and have it reduced...

Re: Andrew Plympton
Always sad when a true Saint passes on. He only ever wanted the best for the Saints and did what he thought was the right thing to do for the club at all times. We won our first cup since 1966 under his reign and made a Grand Final for the first time in 26 years including being minor premiers for th...

Re: Max King 1 match suspension rough conduct
Wright left the ground He’s gone 4 at minimum Only thing that saved him from more is he’s facing the ball unlike Webster The club ought to kick up a real stink about this behind the scenes if he gets off with a couple. As far as I am concerned, the ground rules have been set and there must be consi...

5 - Windy (Don't reduce the job that he did. 24 possies, 7 clearances, 6 tackles, and did a number on the one of the games best players) 4 - NWM (Wonderful user of the footy. Played out wide and was an ideal distributor of the footy. 3 - Marshall (soundly beaten in hit outs but a huge 11 clearances ...

Assuming King's suspension stands Out King, Henry, Wood In Caminiti Butler Garcia (sub) Schoenmaker is a half back and that's not what we need Crouch looked to be struggling with his knee issue In the VFL today Collard didn't touch it. Neither did Hotton, who was the invisible man in the midfield K...

I reckon he’s better than Nick Daicos. He’s a pillar of strength down back and can set up a dangerous attack. What a player! Not sure he's better...Nick is an excellent player with very few flaws. Imagine the hype, though, if NWM had a more famous dad and played for Collingwood! At this stage N. Da...

That's the noise coming from the club. Hit the draft hard again this season and look to FA next year.nostalgicsaint wrote: ↑Tue 19 Mar 2024 4:15pm All the more reason to go to the draft heavily again this year.
