I thought he fell away in the last few games of the season (looked really tired) but had been pretty good up until then. And he didn't get much help in the tall department.stinger wrote:delaney's one i would be looking at....not afl standard imhfo.....

Re: Jack Steven contract
I'm really surprised that some on this thread don't appear to rate Jack that highly.
He's not just an outside speedster, he turns contests our way in tight. He gets stuck in.
With a run of fitness he would be a top midfielder at any club imo.

It's not unreasonable that players (and anyone) want to keep their private life, private.
Coming out would mean signing up to be a poster boy for the issue. Not too many would be interested in having the rest of their life defined by who they sleep with.

Re: St Kilda announcement - Tues morning
Don't be surprised if it has something to do with an automotive industry. A caller on 3AW Sports Tonight approx. 6.50pm Wednesday night spoke of Saints signing Mitsubishi as another major sponsor, to be announced next week. Can't verify the validity of the call. Mitsubishi have made produced some g...

I have a few 66 GF records, a 66 Weg poster and the number 6 locker from Moorabbin.
Also have a few different jumpers but don't wear them. I pretty much agree with others about adults wearing jumpers to the footy... but don't really care if people do.

Re: Saints homeward bound!!
Concentrate on getting this club right ONFIELD! Let CV and the AFL and State government sort out their own mess. It's sounding more and more as though we'll end up with Moorabbin as our base (good). In the end things look like going 360 degrees. Thanks Archie! The Seaford project will be consigned ...

Re: We need to embrace New Zealand.
And as I asked earlier, what is that other way????? Answer There is no other way. I think the plan is to concentrate on convincing existing Saints fans to become members. Seems a much better idea to me than trying to manufacture new ones. How they're going to do that while the team is getting beate...

It's great to read that a bloke coming into just his ninth season at the club is taking his fitness seriously. I think we can expect another exceptional season from a fella who's probably only taken about three million dollars out of the club.

Re: Chris Pelchen - The aftermath
Maybe it was resources... I spoke to John Beveridge at a lunch around 2002/2003 (what year/s was Mick McGuane at the club?) and he was complaining that the club spent less than 2% of turnover on recruitment (when turnover was around $10M for memory). Made the point that winning games was the best i...

That is a hindsight comment. Hodge was known to be a likely star. Sam was not. With Sam you are looking at what he became, rather than what he was back then. Pick 36 in 2001. It was 2005 when he started to hit his straps. We could well have a Sam now, and not know it. Dunstan could be very very goo...

No, they didn't. I get annoyed at the inference as well. Absolutely killed the Saints momentum and gave Port, who could hardly get a touch of the ball, the opportunity to regroup. I reckon the only people who argue that it didn't were those that ran onto the ground. It was our Peter Hoare - Aus v I...

Jack Billings on the other hand looked so shy he'd puke having to do the meet and greet. That could be my brothers fault. He spoke to him briefly at the season launch. Probably Jacks first club duties away from training. I watched young Jack slowly, slowly back away from the maniacal stare of a man...
