Re: Out goes the tackle (junior footy)
The best part of AUSKICK is that it is a skill based approach, whereby all kids get to have regular attempts at all skills provided. where we fail after this is we then get them into a team environment, with generally one or two coaches (at best) and try and get them to now focus on team things whil...

Re: Burke steps down from board
Ahh, I can still remember the days when 5 - 6 blokes would get up from jumping on the footy...Burkey was always the one holding it at the bottom of the pack, run back and kick over the shoulder, great times indeed Well done Nathan and thanks for not only the memories, but the loyalty and effort. Re: Harvey 61% Barker 39%
I'm with Remboy, these two players could probably stand alone at the top of the list as favourite / best players, for me at least I saw much more of Harvey's career live and it was a beauty, but Barks probably kept a whole generation of fans hopeful, off his own efforts alone. Total respect for both...

Also, I reckon Tony is the best footballer I have ever seen, but I wasn't always proud of him; but I'd go to war with Lenny.

Re: Boring bickering.
I find myself watching this site far more than should be normal, I don't post much these days but I find it most entertaining and some of the people here (I suspect) are much closer to the club than they let on, or at least they must lead very interesting lives. Threads like E Dope etc. have just be...

Maybe we'll even make a play for Boyd after next year.

Jeez! That's the kind of spirit we want at a time like this MC Gusto  NOT! Does ANYONE remember 2001.....? anyone? We appointed a double-premiership winning coach, recruited Aaron Hamill, Fraser Gehrig, had Barry Hall, Spider Everitt, Aussie Jones, Stewart Loewe, Nathan Burke, Frankie Peckett...

Re: Time to Play White
Not ready yet. No way. Let him learn to play first. He needs to realsie he has to work hard and not just play one ok game. Not many current players that played today are working hard for it either. Maybe thats the problem then. And could be a big reason for Bruce's omission too, maybe the Pelican i...

Re: Serious question
Thanks for jogging the fading memory of a geriatric Sainter! Actually Luke Ball didn't play in 2001, and BJ didn't come till 2003. The "improvement season" was 2003 when we won eleven games and gave a couple of sides a fair thumping! 2001 was the Season from HELL when we had pretty much N...

Re: Serious question
Everyone has to accept the short term pain simple as that. We would be better today with Goddard and Dal santo but they are both 30 now. For them we have received multiple draft picks who have 10-15 years ahead of them. Deliberate and the right strategy from the club it's the quickest way to get ba...

Sorry mate, Yabby (I was thinking of another great Aussie in Jack 'Yabby' Wells, of Rex Hunt fame).
I can't really see anything good about the cheating myself, just my opinion though
cheers

Re: Jumper
It's what Sydney, GWS, GC, Brisbane, West Coast, Freo, Adelaide and probably Port football clubs may never have. we've earned our rite to be there, to win, or lose...whatever the case may be. I see only 1 flag, where some of the above have several, but you can bet your last dollar, Jack's side in 66...

Re: Watters and Watson. History repeating?
Well, is anyone starting to see the parallels now? No, you are overreacting. Its too early to draw conclusions. We are going through significant change in personnel, there are young players all over the place, without the experience and conditioning. Also, watson had no real coaching background, wa...

Ross has said on a number of occasions lately that the team more or less picks itself on performance. So Eddy being dropped is fair enough (although I probably would have left him in): he was given two big chances and his form hasn't been great. However, before he was dropped, Dempster's form was n...

Thankyou St Kilda
If you do indeed do go on and win the elusive flag, it will be as much to do with the club getting things going "off field" as much as anything. Anyone old enough will attest that this is the most focused, non-egotistic, strategic, supportive (coach) and determined St Kilda board and admin...

I am in favour of big, heavy bumps, particularly those attached to the front of attractive young ladies. AS for the footy, I wish the rotten tools on the rules commitee would leave our game the hell alone. Why do we need a permanent rules commitee in the first place? ALl other major sports seem to ...

Re: Try this question
At the end of last year we finished 4th. Some didn't have us being that good but we could see some good football being produced by the Saints. This year we came out and blitzed nearly everyone and everyone was talking about the big game between us and the mighty Geelong who were playing fierce and ...

I guess that we as supporters haven't had to deal with these issues much over the years, as there isn't usually much left in the rack after getting the best 22 out there. I see a group of coaches though that have much experience at this collectively and I trust in them to know what to do, all good ...
