Re: Changes for St Kilda vs Melbourne this weekend
In Australia at the Federal level we are virtually a One Party State, one side of politics having been the government for 55 of the last 75 years 1984 to 1996 accounted for 12 of those years The High Court reflects Australia being a One Party State Look at the attempts to remove Kirby from the Bench...

Re: AFL loan arrangement details
Interesting to read the opinions of Samuels in the media today Perhaps Graham needs a history lesson on the travails of the Docklands including the Stapled Debt offering which financed the construction along with bank debt (so effectively 100% funded by borrowings from a particular - inept - bank th...

Re: Tom backs brother Paddy McCartin to return to footy in 2021
I make the point that in life you never know what is around the corner And in terms of dealing with changed circumstances and challenges no two people are the same And the outcomes differ accordingly In regards Mc Cartin he is responding as reported therefore, to me, the comments of Ratten are measu...

Re: Tom backs brother Paddy McCartin to return to footy in 2021
As with life, playing footy comes with risks to players
Think Neil Sachse
Then with cricket think Phillip Hughes
Then with going about your life think Peter Motley
And currently we are all at risk due to a virus infecting and killing the numbers it is Globally
Ratts has put it perfectly

Re: Ben Paton
In terms of defenders to support our KPP resources and Roberton who is class, I look to Clark, Long and Coffield Long will be a “steal” coming to St Kilda from the VFL as he did whilst the Draft positions of Clark and Coffield speak IF any of those progress to mid-field roles on a full time basis th...

Re: AFL suspended until at least May 31
The question is will the AFL survive? IF it does it will be courtesy of the State Government underwriting the loans it will be seeking from banks. Reliant on the revenue steams it relies on, including Media Rights from an Industry also under siege, and needing to keep Clubs afloat, the pack of cards...

Re: Saints v Roos Game Day Thread
The WA Premier in a wide ranging address this afternoon said WA were closing their border
So AFL was compromised from the time of that announcement
It would be interesting to get hold of the Financial Statements of the AFL, to see if it is a pack of cards

So from my preferred side put on this site, Carlisle (not considered on interrupted preparation), Coffield and Battle are missing So 3 footballers with good abilities including 2 with potential Perform guys (noting only the 22 will get the opportunity on field so pressure will need to come on the tr...

Well the Liberal Party, the National Party, the Liberal National Party assisted by Hanson, Palmer and Katter (particularly in Queensland) won just enough seats to govern Plus the media continually told us how unpopular the Opposition Leader was And here we are, with the Qantas CEO’s best mate Scomo ...

Re: Sandringham forced to lay off staff
Torn on the decision of the AFL, noting horse racing continues On one side it provides a welcome distraction from otherwise very bleak circumstances - but T what ultimate cost to players and support staff? On the other side it sends a wrong message, contrary to “social distancing” which is a consist...

Re: What are the odds of sharing the load?
The injection of the $8.8 Billion by way of repo's by the RBA on Friday afternoon was to support liquidity and the banks given the market pressures on liquidity - along with calming Financial Markets. It followed a similar move in the USA. Hence the 14% turnaround in the ASX on Friday (from down 10%...

Yes
The same with QANTAS with their restructure when they sacked as they did - so they funded out year performance by their accounting AND gave themselves years of no tax obligations due to the restructure red ink and other accounting measures

“Do not consider”
But many have been roped in by the dividend - a dividend they funded when the Company listed

As I understand St Kilda would not match the 4 year Contract (and the money) on offer from WB for Bruce - and Bruce accepted the WB offer which was a very good offer Bruce to me was an enigma - promising much with his presence but post the first season when he kicked 50 not performing to requirement...

What are the specific pre conditions to be tested? Who do you go to and where to be tested? What is the waiting period for testing? What then is the waiting time for receiving the result? No doubt, with a profile as an AFL footballer there will be fast tracking, but how fast? And what about the rest...

Re: Is this the team for round one?
In my view Carlisle with his skill set in not played at full back. The skill Carlisle has are his smarts, accordingly intercept and pack marking and his disposal You use those skills - from the outer defensive position You don’t want Carlisle tracking a leading forward, you want him chopping out spa...
