Sorry to chip in, but I have a three part question. Who was the no. 1 draft pick in 1996? Which ex Crib Point player kicked three goals in the 2004 Grand Final? Fremantle originally had the first draft pick in 2001 but they traded it to Hawthorn for Croad and McPharlin. When was their next pick and ...

Yep, Gilbert McAdam.
Drafted in 1989, didn't move over until 1991 when he wore the no. 5.

You forget what a good player he was too.

Carrying on with my area of expertise - early 1990s...

Trevor Barker retired in 1989 and Steve Newport wore no. 1 in 1991.

Another Saints player was credited with no. 1 in 1990, but never wore it in a game. He did later play with St Kilda wearing a different number. Who was it?

Both kicked a goal with their first kick in league footy.
(As did Rod Owen, Tony Lockett and Peter Everitt)

Correct, it was Anning.

Honestly jed, sometimes I think it's just you and me on this thread.

Decided to take the avatar down, looking for one with a bit more STKFC relevance.

Kristian Bardsley was a handy little player for us in the mid-90s, having previously played at North Melbourne. While at North, he changed his surname. What was it before Bardsley?

Nope, not Tim Allen. He debuted with us in '91, then went to Hawthorn a couple of years later and Geelong a couple of years after that.

Simpson is one...correct...
The other played fewer games though and is a bit more obscure, but I'm sure there is a die hard here who will get it

Well he went on to make plenty of mistakes when he was playing for us so I don't think it was intentional.

While we're on that time period, which two Saints left the club (not sure if delisted, traded or quit) to go to Geelong for the 1991 season?

That would be Russell Morris, who was in red, white and black within a year of making that mistake.

Indeed it was, Riccardo.

For all the Melbourne socialites Aaron Hamill pulls these days, it's nothing compared to Barks in his heyday.

Spot on jed. Played his first game against Fitzroy in 1989, had a knee injury in 1990, I think was delisted and redrafted and came back to wear no. 50. I liked him before I even saw him play, due mainly to the fact that as I was an 8 year old, Lazar Vidovic was the coolest name I’d ever heard. Man...

Sorry, wasn't Aldo DiPetta. What a name that was though. Aldo played a handful of games for us in late 1990 and played for Sydney afer that.

But no, it wasn't him.

Elle MacPherson was the no. 1 ticket holder, at the announcement, David Grant and Damien Kitschke were the lucky buggers who kissed her on either cheek for the cameras.

As for the junior vice-president, I don't know, I'd say Grant Lawrie?!?
