I didn't want Baker dropped, he is not as quick these days but then again as you stated his opponents are not doing very well on him so perhaps I was being a little hard on him.

We must change our backline

I know we are 5-2 at the moment but our back line is very ordinary. Dawson just doesn't know how to lay a hard tackle and his efforts at contested balls are laughable. Clarke is another one very risky when the ball is in his hands as well, plus Baker is nowhere near the player he used to be although...

Just to reply to you on how those young players went first up , i was there and Carl was easily the best player that day at the old St Kilda ground when making his debut. It was the best performance i have even seen from a teenager having his first game.

No changes? When was the last time after a game that King, Dawson or Clarke got a mention in any newspaper after a match as one of our best players? They were in our 4 worse players in the grand final and still seem to be a walk up selection every time they are available. King tries hard but sadly h...

Worse one sided umpiring ever

Worse umpiring i have ever seen in just on 60 years of following the Saints. One free kick for the whole third quarter to us. Free kick in front of goal to them for around the neck when replays showed he was grabbed around the waist and that handball through the points in the last quarter not being ...

Is Dawson a protected species?

I'm amazed people here often have a go at some of our players, myself included, yet Zac seems to escape any criticism. In my opinion he is very ordinary, never gets the ball in a contest, most of his possessions are the result of being on his own, often getting easy marks when we start kicking the b...

We have 3 players on the back line who seem to have very poor awareness at times, Clarke, Dawson and Blake. Clarke never seems to get out of first gear when he is running often being caught or turning it over plus Dawson can make the most stupid decisions when he has taken a mark while Blake often h...

Well he hasn't been answering any of our prayers for the last 42 years so perhaps we should switch to the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy. :D :D :D
It won't be prayers that will win it for us, just our boys great ability to be in front at the final siren. Go the mighty Saints :P :P :P :P :P

Why not Max in for Eddy?

Max would be an ideal back up for our back line as he can match up well with any of their forwards if needed. He plays close and players will have to earn their kicks against him. We have to free up Goddard to play more attacking football around the centre where his long kicking will put the Cats ba...

Very easy to pick the five best but maybe hard in order Roo Hayes Dal Jones Fisher Others like Goddard, Baker, Clarke and Gardiner also were good at times but my top 5 stood out for us in my humble opinion. Pleased to see Baker put in such a fine game after I wanted him dropped before the finals.

Jones had to get votes

I know it's just people's opinions which i certainly respect but i cannot fathom how anyone could leave Jones out of our best 5 players. Collingwood's danger man mostly all the year has been Didak who has been cutting teams to pieces and Jones completely put him out of business all day. Yes certainl...

Remember when i put in my best ever Saint team after 50 years of watching them, i selected Hayes in in front of Brownlow winner Ross Smith. No disrespect to Smith but i consider Hayes has been a top performer right throughout his career and as hard as any on baller we have had while i have been watc...

Didn't Sam Fisher win our best & fairest last year through his good finals form overtaking Roo who was leading up until then? Your season doesn't end until your last finals match and naturally votes should be awarded in every game we compete in.

Stevie Wonder, oops my mistake. I meant McLaren has got a final. Are they that hard up? What a farce. Shane Crawford said on TV on Sunday he was 100-1 to get a final after his performance on the weekend. Said the game has gone past him. It went past him 5 years ago Shane. He will cost some team a fi...

Try Geary or even young Steven just to name two. What have we got to lose? We know they can run faster than Baker and probably would be as good in the air if not better. Aussie Jones. you should know by now Baker is untouchable on this forum. No matter how poor he plays the same ones keep saying how well he went. I would think Betts and Davey could be on crutches and they would still outrun Bakes. His lack of speed and marking ability will be shown up at the MCG com...

Montagna is having possibly his best year but without a doubt he is close to the worst kick for goal, usually under no pressure, in the league.
