Re: How does Bugg get 6 weeks and Houli 2?
I can't believe the major consensus is that 6 weeks (from the media) was the right penalty. For me, punching a bloke in the head in a game of footy should carry a massive penalty. Like 10-12 weeks minimum. Or more. It's an absolute dog act and has no place in footy. Unfortunately the precedence was ...

Newnes' goal
Did anyone else at the game notice this? When Newnes kicked his goal in the 3rd quarter, there was a clear free kick given away by Acres in the build up. He jumped on the back of an opponent way too early and clearly infringed. Just as the umpire went to blow his whistle to pay a free against him on...

Re: Round 2 Team v Weagles
However, I would have left Paddy out. - Last week showed we need more blokes who can run. - His form and fitness don't fully warrant selection IMHO. - But my biggest issue is that I reckon Subi is the worst (= longest) ground to be playing Paddy on. I disagree with your last point. I reckon the big...

Re: Will Richo be targeted???
I know someone who is mates with Richo, is a Pies fan and can't stand Buckley as their coach. This person keeps hinting to Richo that he should ditch us and come "back home" to the Pies, but Richo keeps telling him there is no way he'd go back to "the rabble" at Collingwood. Basi...

I think he's referring to how Armo modelled his game on Jordan Lewis from the Hawks (now Dees) last year when he had his breakout season.Scollop wrote:Good op but I'm a bit slow. Can you explain the thread title please

Yeah great athlete but poor disposal. Pass.
Also, why the hell is he thinking of leaving the Dogs?? Seems crazy but maybe the Boyd deal means they can't pay him what he deserves.

Re: What's Jake up to ?
Is Jake available for selection in round 1 or does he have to serve the two week suspension for doing coke? Or should I say being publicly not privately caught doing coke. The club has said that suspension was served concurrently with the WADA ban, so he is right to play from the start of next year!

Goal of the year nominations...
Gresh's goal didn't make the top 3 for the year!
Obviously Eddie Betts' will win but surely Gresh's was better than the Shaun Atley one that was nominated and probably even Buddy's one.
Or am I being biased?

Re: If Paddy plays and Petracca plays.....
Christian is a better player, I think it's hard to argue that... He was a better junior, he has looked far superior at Senior level at this point (VFL & AFL) That's not to say Paddy isn't any good .... Before you all sook Paddy may well be a good player, even a gun! I think Petracca has gun wri...

Re: If Paddy plays and Petracca plays.....
I Paddy plays and Petracca plays this week, I wonder if we will be subjected to another article on the AFL website along the lines of "this mob didn't want you" directed at Petracca, which is really just yet another thinly veiled snipe at our recruiting. That really was one of the stupide...

Re: Just F*** Off Umpire
Just to make yourself even more livid with the umpiring on Sunday, go to the AFL website, hover your mouse over the 'Video' section, then go down to the 'Match Replay' section (under the 'Watch Matches heading). Make sure the STK vs NMFC game is the one selected then look at the bottom of the screen...

Re: In the back to hickey marking contest!!
To me the free against Hickey was not due to looking at the opp but was for the hand put out to keep Goldstein from jumping into him hence blocking him from the contest. Yes I don't like it but it's the rules. You can't block and the umps have been hot on it all year. Yes, you are correct. This is ...

Re: Rookies
Good question actually. I was wondering how JBT was going. Given we are light on for key backs at the minute, is he any chance of being called up or is he that far away that he has no chance of ever playing, given Carlisle will be back next year and hopefully Goddard has progressed.

Back on topic...I remember Emma Quayle (who I think everyone can agree is an expert in and an excellent judge of young talent) saying that Billings WILL be the best player out of the group by the end of their careers (assuming no injuries). This was based on the fact that he was head and shoulders a...

Re: Oh when the saints
I wasn't a fan of it. Our supporters need to be initiating their own singing and chanting without the aid of audio tracks over PA system and distracting graphics flashing from all corners of the ground. I love the old chant of "Knock, knock". Now it is tainted by this crass gimmickry. I l...

He looked like he had real intent in that second half.
