All X has to do to become a very important player for us is: - stay fit - pick up his footskills I have a feeling the second condition above results from the first He has some really good tools - a nice tackle - brilliant reader of the play - creative and daring - good overhead - good enough pace I ...

If Maguire wants to be paid more than the club wanna pay him and/or if maguire doesn't wanna be a saint and we can get a good replacement - meaning CHB - for him, then there is no big deal in losing matt maguire his value depends on the form of the rest of the team whereas, say, the form of the team...

On field for 2008 Hamill is not a big loss in fact, he isn't a loss at all he was great a couple years ago, but his retiring hasn't cost us anything but the hope that he may some day return if you could guarantee hamill is capable of playing and he retired it would be bad news but there really isn't...

I rarely believe rumors like this and rarely pay them attention...but Goose is an interesting one for me If we do lose him, we're losing a very important position but not a very special player In my observation, he has real attitude problems and i really don't like his approach Probably owing to his...

Are the profits enough?

Whilst i'm sure this presidential challenge talk is largely rubbish and i am skeptical that any change will occur, thought i'd start a thread on Rod. Does Butterss deserve to go on as our president? Has he done enough? The financial health of the club is the best it's ever been but it's far from per...

How many B&F's doe Riewoldt have to win (coming up to 4, by the way) for people to realise he is a GUN CHF? Roo is a CHF...he'll find his way down deep every now and then but he is our CHF! I agree with the school of thought that Goddard's kicking from the defensive half is to valuable to take a...

This is the hardest player retirement to take for a while...probably since Loewe Burkey was bad too, but this one hurts more because Frase is still a very good player Will miss him incredibly The most endearing quirks, the most captivating presence the comp has had for a long time, i reckon Genuine ...

Good Original Post, to which i'll just add a few players off the top of my head: (Raph, X, CJ, Brooks, Goose, Ball) Raph Clarke is a really and truly good footballer. Anyone who has bagged him (given his injury history, fitness and the role he was thrust into) is an idiot...plain and simple should n...

Fraser Gehrig: I hold G-Train up there with my all-time most favourite Saints...right up there with Harvey, Burke, Loewe, Winmar and those such champions. I'm not saying he gave as much as those blokes to the club, but he is one of my favourites of all time.

Will sorely miss Fraser.

CJ will give chase down pressure whereas Thommo will give pressure around the footy nobody has better 1%ers or interceptions than thommo... neither plays much game time...neither has good disposal (Thommo is better, however) i think thommo is better CJ's disposal is really bad whereas thommo is only...

With regards to Illicit Drugs in footy; I posted this in another thread: People need to understand that it's not a case of being caught once and then left alone...it is a zero tolerance system - caught once and there is intervention but, the afl isn't bowing to the media and other low life gossipers...

The player we need most is the Bulldogs' Shaun Higgins!

Robbo is a selfish show boat who is way too old, has had a rubbish 2007 and doesn't interest me at all

richmond would laugh at the suggestions thus far made for the p-train, but they would ask for more than he is worth

Dal gets a hard time around here Yes, he does get beaten from time to time, but the perception of him as fragile is unfair The main thing that annoys me about dal is that he takes our kick ins I think this is absurd…all our kick ins are just basic 30m passes to free men in the pocket…anyone can ...

Lyon, for the next couple of years, seems very confident in Kosi/Gardiner and happy with rix/blake back ups with Van Rheenan in the pipelines

he wants runners and crumbers...not a ruck

and he is right

we don't need one
