Actually Geelong has the second best defence behind the saints.

The third tall can only standup if the ball is kicked to him.

If the midfield only look for Roo and Kosi it allows for the Geelong defence

to zone off and double team. The reason you can't double team the geelong

forwards is their midfield look for the open man, no matter who it is.

I was at the game and watched a replay at home and Gram had his best

game of the year, but if a few of you boys think he had a good disposal

you need to have another look. Turnovers like that against Geelong would

kill us.

Reckless act off the ball. Take the plea and get on with it.

Gives him a good rest going into the finals.

It's easier to get a kick down back than up forward, especially when there are two great targets up front and the ball being directed through them. I believe his value is in that he can spot up a player and penetrate with his kicking, something we sometimes lack with our midfielders. Ross Lyon and h...

The two guys who missed the most targets on Sunday were Gram and Ball, mind you Balls were in traffic. I saw NDS kick twice into the 50 straight to an Essendon player and I saw our best kick Goddard hit an Essendon player on the chest from 30 metres. I believe that people see what they want to and n...

Bergholt, the stats that matter are 4 inside 50's and 2 goal assists.

If we got that out of him every game he will be doing his job.

Rodger is quite righr about Gwilt and Geary in trhe first half.

They both played better in the second.

I also think the coaching staff like Gwilt because he is a good kick and twice

during the game he actually hit a target over the Adelaide zone.

Something the saints struggled to do in past years.

In that half time production of the Saints week during the game on friday.

Lyon basically stated to the players that their positions in the side relied on

them being able to chase, harass and tackle. It was obviously a key focus of

the coaching panel over the summer.

Geary is a good ball getter, however if you watch the replays from the game

the other night he turns the ball over a lot by foot. If he can improve in that

area he will be a keeper.

I always thought his best football was off the hbf. His run and ability to hit

targets was why he was liked when he first came to the club.

As much as the team has played very well I'm not sure either the crows

to be in the 8 before we get ahead of ourselves.

Two points I don't understand from Rodgers' report. 1) Playing an unproven style. How can you prove it if you don't try it. In the past two years the Hawks and the Cats have played new styles of football. They didn't know if they would be successful until they tried them. 2) The fascination with hav...

I don't believe that any of our young guys have shown enough preseason,

however I do believe if there is a kid who can change the team up a bit,

i.e. break the lines, make really good decisions than he should play.

I just don't think there is one out there.
