As I see it, taking on players like this is simply a lottery, irrespective of reputation, age etc.

Geelong's Steven King is ripe

If one can believe the media Blake is "shattered" to be dropped by Geelong for the GF after 22 games this season. Not sure that the Cats have done the wrong thing by themselves because King was just fair against the Pies ( The Cats really motored on every time Ottens came back on) but we a...

I thought that this year X-Man showed signs of turning on his bets form. The offer is a wise one, both for the Club and him. I fail to see the connection between his father's condition and the contract though unless it means he would want to be released if the old chap does not pull through.

As for me I applaud his devotion to the club but for the last two seasons have had a gut feeling he would not return without injury.

We lost Smithy to the Awks because we could not look after him.
So if Goose goes the same way the old saying that lightning never strikes in the same place twice will go out the window as well. And both had severe leg injuries.

Re: Resurgance of Victorian based clubs

[quote="Marchin' In"]With West Coast being knocked out tonight, 4 of the remaining 5 clubs in the competition are Victorian-based. This year is set to be the end of interstate dominance stretching back to 2001. But...who would have thought 2 years ago that it wouldn't involve us? I am quit...

We lose Kozzi we lose years to get back to where we are and the opportunity to move to the top. But there are still gaps to be filled. There are no ready made goalkickers (other than Fev who we do NOT want) so we should start with Kozzi doing his dual role and aim for another ruckman like Jolly (if ...

Rocca

Blind Freddie reckons we need the Filth to knock off the Crows on Friday, and for us to kill the Tiges. So the question arises, if Rocca is pinged will that help? I reckon he will get off. Having looked at the incident several times it looks as though he pulled his hand back immediately after contac...

Raph passed muster for me last night. He is agonisingly slow in disposal at times but this could be largely due to the lack of leads from team mates- one of our major faults. At least he delivers with fair accuracy which is mpore than some others (Gram, L Fisher) do on occasions. And why does the la...

MF would not be the first to be bagged (on what virtually was) a debut. It was a red hot scenario for him. Maybe he will rise above it and give the value that some of you have seen at Casey but for me he was a passenger last night.
