M.Gardiner to Claremont?

from Real footy 4th October: St Kilda ruckman Michael Gardiner has told Claremont that he would love to finish his playing career with the Tigers. But the marriage between the injury-prone ruckman and a club desperate to inject some experience into its line-up will remain unarranged until Gardiner's...

I could go with the suggestion of the OP. The St George Illawarra DRagons in the NRL are alternatively called Saints & Dragons.

What is the history of St Kilda being Panthers? Why was it stopped I wonder?

According to Eddie, that is what they are planning (i.e. Pies want them both).

Cousins, according to the Age this morning.

In retrospect, he was played out of position. We always had him at forward pocket. SOme useful performances but that is it. Kudos to Clarkson for reinventing him in the backline.

Player of the Final Series R. Clarke !! You are right there. Amazing isn't it. I was starting to wonder if he was going to make it at all. Now he is out there playing well and truly like a no.7 draft pick. oh, and votes: 5-Max Hudghton 4-Brendon Goddard 3-Raphael Clarke 2-Sam Fisher 1-Nick Riewoldt

How are we going to win clearances?

We were beaten at the clearances and disputed ball again at the weekend. This time we were able to dominate regardless (Saints' accurate kicking, Pies inaccurate, Saints pressure on ball carrier etc etc). But we certainly won't get near Geelong, nor the Hawks probably, if we don't do something to im...

The match day report against St Kilda's Lenny Hayes for striking Geelong's Joel Selwood was assessed. It was the view of the panel that as Hayes was falling to the ground, he instinctively threw his left arm around to grab at Selwood, in an attempt to stay on his feet. The action was deemed to be a ...

from AFK site at 7.06pm: ST KILDA defender Jason Blake is expected to be right to play in next Saturday night's first semi-final against Collingwood at the MCG, despite injuring his right thumb during his side's 58-point loss to Geelong at the 'G on Sunday. Blake suffered the injury mid-way through ...

I don;t have a problem with that free being paid. Sj had his back to Milne. No idea the hit was coming. Got him right in the kidneys - I don;t think he acted particularly. I think what Milne did is a pretty pointless part of the game at the best of times, and it is one thing to do it when the target...

4th gives us great insight

Come what may on Sunday, having secured 4th spot is a fantastic outcome for the Saints. Our guys will experience a minimum of two finals. But more importantly, it gives us the opportunity to test ourselves against the very best. Win or lose, we will know exactly where we stand. Us posters can suppos...

The really positive aspect is that Casey's season continues, and players in contention for AFL action, in the emergencies Steven and Armitage plus M. Gardiner (because 2 ruckmen would be the optimum) and Allen (to keep pressure on C. Gardiner) continue to get match time. Plus, given a St Kilda win ...

I have thought about the podcast idea also - definitely needed! I don;t think you need to worry about it being the end of the season too much. Trade period is just about the busy time on here. My suggestion is to hand pick the posters who really know their stuff and stimulate the most feedback to be...

The other option is Bigpond Footy TV. You don;t have to be a Bigpond subscriber, just have to have a reasonably fast Internet connection and healthy data download allowance from your provider. Footy TV will undoubtedly screen the Saints match sometime tomorrow. I'll post when details available. Righ...

I agree with the importance of the role Charlie is playing for our forward structure. I am a bit unsure why Ferg hasn't been given much of a crack playing that role. We have seen Charlie, how many, 6-8 times this season playing the role? He has been of value doing it probably 80% of the time, so i h...

It does people good to get away from the womb, take on fresh ideas etc. Doesn't mean he is not a Saint. Ya reckon Silvagni is a Saint just cos he is currently with us? Not a chance. I would be happy for Harves to do a short stint elsewhere before returning to the fold.
