Re: StKilda again the ones that cop it.
As much as I think what Webster did deserved a significant suspension, it is comical that a player walked free from a similar act just five games ago. There will be similar hits during the 2024 season, and you can be sure that they won't result in 7 week suspensions. Jimmy stupidly put himself in th...

Re: Match discussion thread - Nth Melb practice match
2024 is only the 7th time St Kilda have had an undefeated preseason (since it began in 1979).
When going through the preseason undefeated, St Kilda have a 50% record of going on to win a final that year.
And a quirky omen for 2024, the winning margins of our two practice matches.... 19, 66.

Re: Match discussion thread - Nth Melb practice match
Positives Ball use was very good in the first half, moved the ball through the corridor from congestion and it worked well. Controlled the air with good contested marking and solid contests. Wilson, Shoenmakers and Garcia have all got plenty to offer. Henry and Bonner are Round 1 locks - arguably ou...

There's some seriously harsh judges on here.
Excellent performance for his first AFL level hit out. Disposal was fantastic in the windy conditions, regularly looking to switch play or kick through the lines with purpose. Nothing like Dougal Howard in my opinion.

Re: Injury update
Port hadn’t even been inside 50 by the time of the ground invasion. The way things were going we could easily have been 6 goals up by quarter time, had Port not had that chance to regroup. The way we started that game was some of the most scintillating footy I’ve ever seen us play. I suppose the ot...

A team can only be predicted to fall out of the eight if they were in it.
It's a nice problem to have.

Re: Jack Bytel training with Collingwood
Typical saints. Bytel not good enough to get a game or a fair go with us but gets signed by the premiership team. I hope you star with them Jack and go on and have a good career which was denied to you at Moorabbin. How'd that work out for Luke Dunstan? If he's good enough, he'll make it. To this p...

Re: Bogy team(s)
Port Adelaide are by far our modern bogey team. We have won just 1 of our last 13 vs the Power. We won our first five matches against Port, but have won only 6 of 30 since. We have not beaten them in Melbourne since 2010. Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Melbourne currently hold the longest winning strea...

Re: Simon Lethlean finished at St. Kilda effective immediately?
This screams of another one shown the door because he dared to disagree with Ross the boss. I know I am in the minority but I really don't like Ross Lyon and cannot understand why he is touted as some kind of supercoach. He has only had success, moderate success at that, when he has been handed A-g...

Why? Would you rather a team fear us or underrate us Professional sportsman don’t go easy on teams they don’t respect They belt them History proves that's untrue. Bulldogs vs West Coast? Arsenal vs Fulham? Girona vs Barcelona? It's an extremely common narrative within any competitive environment to...

Re: Goals
King's one on one record is impeccable. Among the best in the competition.
If we can isolate him on a regular basis, he'll kick 60+ goals, but that all comes with fast, efficient ball movement.

Than these players... Dow v Bytel Henry v Gresham Hastie v Coffield Collard v Billings Schoenmaker v Highmore Wilson v McKenzie Bonner v Connolly O'Connell v Adams Garcia v Peris In 2024? I'll have a guess. Dow v Bytel - Yes, Dow will play Round 1, Bytel wouldn't have. Henry v Gresham - Yes, despit...

I'm sure that would have referred to the 2024 draft - most likely the rookie draft.
Our 2024 list strategy would've been well and truly in place when that agreement was announced.

Re: How Well Did We Do?
Garcia is the one that interests me. I hadn't heard of him at all, and yet we traded F3 to get him, seemed odd. I wonder whether it was the completion of a deal with GWS that we would trade a third back for the second they traded to get Leakie? We had three 2024 R3 picks, we were never going to use...

Re: How Well Did We Do?
I was most impressed by our trading over the last two nights. Trading our 2024 R3 pick (received from Melb for Billings) to Melbourne for pick 42 allowed us to package 40 & 42 to Gold Coast for 27. Clever trading given GC weren't going to use 27, they just needed the equivalent points. This gave...

Re: Saints poised fror round one trip to sleepy hollow
Our first home game at Docklands isn't until Round 6!
We play just three home games at Docklands in the first 12 rounds, but we travel to Geelong, Adelaide twice, Canberra, Launceston and Perth.
Draw becomes a little friendlier from Round 13 onwards.
