Re: Gram The Midfielder

Statsman wrote:What do people think of developing Gram into a midfielder?
That's where I want to see him. That's where he wants to play. Given he was put in the centre a few times in the last two weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if Ross wants to see him move in there.

The price Carlton would want us to pay for Fev would be more than I'd be willing to give up. We don't need Fev. We've got forward options. Get a good look at Allen, Brooks and Watts in preseason, then play one of them if they're needed. Remember, we played Harvey's 350th with Kosi starting in the ru...

Gilbert (FB/CHB, 20) I don't think Gilbo should ever go near fullback. The closer to the midfield he gets, the better. The tackling pressure he puts on the opposition, his running through traffic and his disposal are assets which would all be wasted negating an opponent's FF. I think he should play...

There isn't a team in the league we haven't beaten over the last two seasons. At our best, there isn't anybody we can't beat. To blame our disppointment on recruiting and development is missing the point I think. I think the list we have now is capable of so much more, and I won't let them off on ac...

Re: Play kids ...give Thommo a send off!!

Dont give me the "dont tank" cr@p - get the best kid to bolster stocks we can. It's a meaningless game, so only play guys who are 100% fit. Get everyone else ready for next year. It wouldn't hurt us to get a look at Geary. It'd be great to give Thommo a proper sendoff. We must win the gam...

According to some, apparently Matthew Ferguson, Justin Sweeney, Clint Jones and Barry Brooks are all 'jets' or on the verge of being 'awesome players'...despite the fact they'd probably get delisted by Carlton right now. According to whom? I haven't seen a single post on here referring to them as '...

Hopefully that is the end of [Gardiner's] foot problems and his knees are reported to be fine. I'm not comfortable with counting on a 28-year old ruckman with knee and foot problems to come back and have any kind of an impact. Even when he was healthy and available, West Coast were picking Seaby ov...

Freo won't trade him to the Eagles, and if he tries to go via the PSD, there'll be a bunch of teams who will grab him before West Coast even has a chance.

Sydney gave up a first round pick for Jolly, and he's done nothing but improve since they got him. I can't see them accepting anything less than a first round pick for him. I'd love to have him here, but we might be better off with the pick. Jolly wouldn't be a bargain.

He can get the footy and uses it well, only question is his fitness. A second round pick plus a player would be good value, giving up a first round pick when there are some very handy young midfielders on offer is a bad idea IMO. Passing on Hasleby for a junior would be seriously foolish. The odds ...

He's a Lenny Hayes type player. Gets lots of ball and has amazing skills. Won't set the world afire with his pace, but he won't get burned too often either. He's had fitness issues the last couple of years, prior to that he hardly ever missed a game (or a target). He's a gun. There's no way Freo wou...

Same as Glass. Best FB by a fair way. Based on what? West Coast allowed the fewest inside fifties of any team last year, and Glass had more goals kicked on him than Hudghton, Rutten or Scarlett by a fair bit. Hudghton, meanwhile, played on a defence than allowed more I50s than any of those other te...

So, if Adelaide win, for the sake for only 1 extra loss we can maybe get a better draft pick. Will that strategy really upset anyone?? I think it is just being clever. It's too clever for my liking. It's just asking the footy gods to punish us with a disappointing draft pick while gifting the team ...

I think that there is no doubt that Dal could be up their with Cousins or say Black of the Lions...etc....but at present he is not as consistent. Dal isn't as good as Black or Mitchell around the stoppages, but he's better everywhere else on the field. He's a much more versatile and damaging player...

Dal is totally underappreciated here. He's easily one of the best mids in the league. Why do you think opposition coaches put their best tagger on him? Why do you other teams were throwing large sums of money at him to try and get him to cross to their club? Because he's elite. He'll hurt you a lot ...

I have never supported drug testing by the AFL for illicit recreational drugs. I'm not sure it's a smart idea. If you test for it, then there are going to be results, and eventually the results are going to leak out. It's going to bring unnecessary bad publicity. The 3 strikes policy itself is a PR...

Riewoldt is one of the best forwards in the game. Dal and Hayes are among the best mids in the game. Max is one of the best defenders in the game. The AFL created the system, we are playing the game and doing what any team would be doing, yours included. The AFL is rewarding your club for woeful mismanagement. What's worse is they're giving Carlton a pick that would have historically gone to Richmond on the justification that your team is a p...

He's short for a ruckman. He's 196cm or thereabouts. What he lacks in height though he makes up for in other ways. He's a beast. If he becomes available, I want him. But I'd rather not give up a top-10 pick to get him.

Priddis is a freakish ball-magnet and always has been. it's not like recruiters didn't know who he was, teams just didn't want to use a draft pick on a player who couldn't run and couldn't kick. Even West Coast didn't think him worthy of a draft pick. JB mentioned Priddis by name earlier in the year...

Dal Santo, Fisher and Riewoldt are all good enough and have had good enough seasons to make it, but they're not the only ones. Le Cras is a marking small forward. Attard not suited to that role. Ferg should get that job. Ideal match up. LeCras doesn't get enough marks to be a marking forward. I cannot see Gwilt on Lynch..or Hansen My guess is that Goose will take big Q and Chips will take Hansen. Don't worry too much about Hansen's height. He's primarily a leading forward.
