How well did we utilise the "rookie" resource? You know the answer to that, so why even bother bringing it up? The flipside to our extremely well-documented rookie list woes is we have more drafted players on our list than anybody else. Explain to me how that's a bad thing. And while you'...

Stick with the process that got you there in the first place. Each year we picked up a slightly more mature player or two who would be able to push for selection a little sooner: 2001: Black, Knobel 2002: Brooks, Penny, Powell 2003: Gram, Guerra, Sam Fisher 2004: Ackland, McGough, Fiora 2005: Watts...

My main point is the change in mind set. "We're this close, we just need to load up to have a tilt." Then they seem to forget all the things they did well to get them to that point in time. I don't think we belong with the other groups there. We picked up McGough who was 20 and Ackland wh...

29 - Michael Gardiner............. Maybe . If he gets his body right, he could play some good footy, but he may be the next Aaron Hamill Hamill's actually played more games over recent years than Gardiner. Gardiner hasn't been an elite ruckman in four years. Since then he's had knee recos and an ap...

Re: Sheahan: Saints goal-starved - Herald-Sun Article

The Saints rank 16th for centre clearances and 14th for inside 50s this year. Figures that reflect a problem in the ruck and the assorted worries for key midfielders Lenny Hayes, Luke Ball, Robert Harvey and Nick Dal Santo. Or perhaps, if Mike had taken a second to think things through, he would ha...

Re: Dream Team

I won my elimination final, so live for another day. And thanks to my gutsy (or lucky) 21 point victory over Nicko's Saints, you have the thrill of facing him in your Semi! I'm around 4000th overall right now with no trades and a bare minimum of players available. Only Pattison played out of my res...

Experience isn't the problem. We had one player under the age of twenty in our side, and he was one of our best. The problem as I see it is that we have too many guys - of all ages - who aren't pulling their weight.

In order:

Raph Clarke
Leigh Montagna
Jason Gram
Andrew McQualter
Matthew Ferguson
James Gwilt
Leigh Fisher
Barry Brooks

Raph and Joey are already in my best 22. Gram's just outside. The guy I really want to take his game up a notch is Xavier Clarke.
