Re: Seb Ross

The sort of player who could flip a game when it's on the line, staying calm and collected with great poise and decision making in tight.

Deficiencies will decrease.

Just a lad. Will get bigger, stronger and more assertive.

I'm a fan.

Re: We desperately need a crumbing forward

I don't think Templeton has the tricks, cheek, pace or goal-awareness to be a cracking small forward.

Play him up the ground, and go after the natural Milne/Betts/Ballantyne/LeCras types any-which-way.

Re: Brian Speaking

I thought he was a Collingwood fan (JC)? Patton was a Saints fan. Boyd a Blues fan. I truly believe this is someone taking the piss, but could you imagine the draw card for members and future trades/F.A if you had Cameron shredding it.. ? Just on that alone, it'd be worth paying massive overs. On Ar...

Re: No 1 pick

Build a team of intelligent, nifty, goal-kicking forward/mids. If there is a stand out talent, no matter his position, obviously bank it. And you're always going to need grunt players. But for example, if you had to choose between an 18 year old Tom Hawkins (or, say, Roughead) or Paul Chapman, who w...

Re: Next captain?

I'm not really sold on Geary as a footballer. Awesome endeavor, often horrid skills and decision making. He'll be around for a few years yet - as result of our list and his leadership attributes. I'd hope that a youngster would push him out of the team in 2 years time or we'd be traveling quite poor...

Re: Vote for Roo, bravest mark

1. They should show Riewoldt's run into the mark.

2. Brown is liked more amongst the masses.

3. Riewoldt's was the best mark ever. Period. The collision caused him to do a front flip in mid-air FFS. GET A GRIP. No contest.

Re: Jack Billings Rising Star

I'm not one to put all my eggs in one basket... but Billings is the sole saviour of the St Kilda footy club.

He'll be turning games on their heads very shortly. Just needs a mate or two, and Saints will be back baby!

I love how he wants and expects to win.

If Acres comes on... what a draft!

Re: Changes for Crows game

I'd be disappointed if Simpkin isn't given a massive run of games this year, if his form is holding true.

He seems like such a natural, gritty, tight, grind-it-out defender. Wins the 50/50s 9 times out of 10.

I'm a big fan.

Re: The best defenders in the AFL?

Josh Gibson is such a stud.

My favourite non-Saints player at the moment.

He's been ridiculous so far this season.

Hawks Traded pick 25 and 41 for him. He's absolutely elite.

What I like about him is that he looks determined. Almost unsatisfied, even when he's done well.

I don't think he's at all happy to just be a handy player....

Re: Rhys Stanley

One mark he took, he absolutely exploded. I don't know if the pass was even intended for him. He came into the picture at a pace you rarely see. He seemed to slightly change direction, and cut across a few players, while at full tilt.

More of that, please.

lose to many midfield rotations and that was huge problem last year. We kept running out of legs because they were to tried because of not having enough mids. Good point. Sure hope Billings becomes the most dangerous midfielder/forward we've had... since... well... ever. Still couldn't see Saad not...

...as any given player can fill that role due to the pressure created. Would strongly disagree. I'm all for contested footy. I tell ya what, I was never massive on Saad. I think this had a lot to do with watching Milne for so long and the expectation I had built for our next small forward. Couldn't help but think the last few weeks, he would have been very valuable. Absolutely no danger when the ball hits the ground after...

Re: Player Ratings: Rd 2 v GWS

Gilbert's decision to pick the ball off the ground (half back flank, last Q), instead of the easy soccer-kick, should almost get him a 0 for the game. Atrocious decision. I'm usually a fan of Gilbo. And we're better for him in the team, obviously, like today. But wow. Closest I've come to ever losin...

Re: big mac and the pelican...

Stinger - you raise an interesting point. Pelican was fixated with his plan to get 3 picks inside 20 but would Macca and Nds got us Boyd ? It's possible. Which would have left us with Boyd, Billings + pick 23 - pretty interesting proposition . All speculative I guess. On another note - the title to...
