Post: # 1007883Post cps »

I know the Family Day is from 11 until 2 - any idea what time the players will be appearing?

Absolutely pathetic that the players were there for ten minutes then left.

Proof that the members & supporters of this club are seen as nothing more than dollar signs.

Just sh1thouse from the club.

Good crowd.
But very subdued.

Michael Roberts the MC.
Talked up the draw.

Ross spoke.
Then Roo.
Then Lenny.
Then BJ.

Then they left.
All over in 15 mins.
Looked like everyone was there including Gardi.

And that's it for Moorabbin.

Yes it was probably closer to 10 mins than 15.
Disagree on your other comments.
What can they say after a debacle like yesterday?

I went like everyone else just to show a bit of support.
They just talked the usual platitudes about regrouping and coming back stronger - but what did you expect?
Maybe they should have roped off half the ground and Gilbo, Schneider and Roo could practice goalkicking?

How about stay around & sign a few autographs & give a hit of their time to the fans.

I spoke to numerous people who were just as disappointed, it was just very poor.

Yeah, I would have been disappointed traveling an hour and a half for only a fifteen minute appearance.

Sure they're feeling low after that defeat, but at least show something to the people who keep the club going and are taking time out of their weekend to show the support.

Thought the day was very well organised by the Club. Its not the February family day with all the players upbeat and ready to meet the fans and load up for the coming year..its a wake lets be blunt

Many of you have talked about needing your own space since the loss, yet the players are expected to happily sign autographs for hours?

Thought RL, Roo, BJ and Lenny all spoke well, BJ in particular got a big reception. Michael Roberts excellent as MC

I think a few might have had unrealistic expectations of what today was to be. To gather and mingle, to be reassured you werent the only ones feeling like crap, to seek closure. It was never designed, win or lose, to be a "meet and hang out with the players" session. They are feeling 100 times worse than us right now, put your house on it

it was bloody pathetic.

i went with my little girl and we are proud of their effort in the first game and in yesterday's but to stay for so little is disrespectful on the back of GF week and putting training on at 10.30am Monday morning when a lot of people can't get to it.

this is what i expect;
- for the players to understand we are hurting as much as they are even though we werent players
- for the players to give us more than 10 mins of their time on Sunday
- and for the players to mingle with the crowd who turned up to pay them the ultimate respect and show our support for them and the club the morning after they were pantsed!

And quite frankly I don't think that is too much to ask!

Spot on. Having the players sign autographs last year was embarressing.

They are sore. They are hurting. Some will not be at the club next year.

We put our money into the club but they put there effort and their lives.

You can bet your house that if we had won, the players would have probably be there for the whole day wanting to share it with the fans.
Unfortunately, I decided not to go, too much pain.

I don't think they'd be feeling worse than I feel, I'd put the dumpster on it!

They all netted roughly an extra $50,000 for the replay and are about to jet off overseas for a holiday!

Sure they'd be very disappointed and shattered to some degree, but I cannot imagine for a microsecond that they'd be feeling worse than some supporters feel today!

Maybe I'm wrong, but I reckon your estimation is absolute bollocks, 100 times worse, come on!!!!!!!!!!

They would havwe to be feeling worse than me because i couldn't give a s*** after yesterdays pitiful performance.

Absolutely had it with this bunch of losers.

Was proud last year, last week, but was disgusted yesterday.

Not a effing whimper.

They were a disgrace.

Would NOT go today. They do not deserve your long suffering support.

I seriously don't know what the point of this day is to begin with for the losing team!

IMHO it should only be ON if we WIN!

What's the fricken point of it?

The players don't want to be there, can't imagine why anyone would want to go there!

It's just a complete waste of time!

Agree Barks...reckon if the players were feeling even just twice as bad as I feel they would be dead...

Was confident they would bounce back last year and give it a shake ...now I fear we may not another chance for a significant period...hope like hell I'm wrong

Thanks for the rundown.

I'm still in Coolangatta atm, and there's nothing but the talk of rugby grand finals thick in the air. It's nice to be removed from Vic today, and it's pouring with rain- so be it the rain or that im two States away theres not one Pies supporter anywhere to be seen! Thank heavens!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

i met one guy with his wife and two young kids who came from Warnambool to support the team...really poor form.

as i said in an earlier post, we are all bleeding this one out but the least they could do is spend some time with supporters who could and did make an effort to share the pain and also celebrate the boys effort from GF1!

Yep. A fat cheque, an exotic holiday, fast cars, even faster women.

I'd get over it pretty quickly.

They would be hurting no doubt, but they have nice distractions all around them.

Michael

I don't recall us disagreeing much over the years but on this one i do. The club ask so much from the fans and the players that this is one of the few times when we do actually share the pain. To pay lip service to the fan base that turned up was very poor and insulting.

of course i'll be here for the club next year, because the club is bigger than the individual and if our administration understood this, truly understood this, then we would have worn our traditional jumper in the GF, our President would have bigger balls to stand up for the club and would have understood, that when the players reture, get delisted or simply move on, we are here regardless!

Spot on Joffa.

Also not a whimper from our Club about having to wear the clash jumper for 2 grand finals in 2 weeks either....

Why didnt we tell big Eddie to stick it where the sun doesnt shine?

The players couldnt give a sh1te about supporters...they just go through the motions.

You are all wasting too much time crying for this mob.

Partially agree with this as they do treat the fans with contempt. None of the fans would have got within 30 metres of a player today and that was very deliberate on the club's behalf.

It's unfortunate that the Saints' "bubble" is a mindset that disregards all external factors - including the members that pay their money to ensure that those players and coaches are very well financially looked after.
