The issue with Milne has never been his ability to perform in Home games.Mr Magic wrote:So everybody thinks Milne will be a Top 10 finish in the B&F and yet there are quite a number of posters demanding he lost his place in the team?
This year he cranked things up and did well interstate.
And in Week 1 and Week 3 of the finals.
But his form in the GF????????
Did enough in the Tie (and came within a bounce of immortality).
But Saturday was a dismal dismal dismal fail (please don't count those two junktime goals). One kick to 3/4 time.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Milney had a lot of mates in the 2nd GF. I think he did enough in the finals to dispell the inuendo about his big game ability. Never easy being a small forward in a high pressure game like saturday.Enrico_Misso wrote:The issue with Milne has never been his ability to perform in Home games.Mr Magic wrote:So everybody thinks Milne will be a Top 10 finish in the B&F and yet there are quite a number of posters demanding he lost his place in the team?

It's pretty hard to do much if the footy doesn't get to you.Enrico_Misso wrote:The issue with Milne has never been his ability to perform in Home games.Mr Magic wrote:So everybody thinks Milne will be a Top 10 finish in the B&F and yet there are quite a number of posters demanding he lost his place in the team?

I just think he's an easy scapegoat, adn deserves more credit for standing up this year (and many other seasons).
Statistically not many better small forwrds in the history of the game.

I've been to a few B&Fs and usually the atmosphere is pretty good.
But I am worried this week will be like a funeral.
All the supporters I know (including me) are feeling nothing but deep deep despair - still coming to grips with our wretched luck last week and our lame capitulation this week combined with the feeling that ever so slowly our window is closing.
I expect it will be a very subdued night?

Was Brett Peake the only new player to get a game?saintbrat wrote:any possibles for the Other two awards that have been given in recent years

We can't give it to Lovett - he barely trained with us!

Heyne was drafted the same year as Lynch and Stanley.

Most Promising New player is a difficult one: I believe Brett Peake is too old to get it. Maybe Rhys Stanleysaintbrat wrote:any possibles for the Other two awards that have been given in recent years

From what I have read, the Robert Harvey Most Professional Player Award would be an extremely difficult 3-Way split: Lenny Hayes, Brendon Goddard or Nick Riewoldt !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

B&F always interesting as voted by coaches with ranking out of 10 for all players.
At a guess I would think
BJ
Monty
Hayes
Milne
Gilbert
Remember over the whole year not just finals, hence Milne very good when Roo out and Gwilt solid but spectacular in finals.
Most promising new player - Peae
Most Professiona Player - Roo
