SPonsorship Group 2011
I have received some information from the Club about next year's program.
They are again split into 4 price categories:-
Captain $3200
Leadership $2300
Core $1950
Development $1450
(as yet they haven't advised which players fit into which categories)
What we get for our sponsorship?
If we 'break up teh benefits into 'prizes' (as oer oreviously), we end up with the following per player:-
2 tickets for the Pre-Season launch
2 tickets to the B&F Dinner
2 tickets to the Match Day Event
2 tickets to an 'In-Season Player Sponsor's Event' (new this year replacing Hall of Fame Dinner)
1 Signed & Framed Memorabilia piece.
Additionally the Club have announced an 'upgraded' sponsorship version in all categories which they classify as 'Premium Player Sponsorship'
For an additional payment of $1500 per player (in any category) we can receive the following additional 'prizes' per player:-
2 more tickets to Pre-Season Launch
2 more tickets to the B&F Dinner
Lunch with sponsored player at Linen House Centre (Frankston)
2 people to visit change rooms post-game at a Home game
2 invitations to attend an 'Executive Function' at a selected Home game.
An upgraded version of signed memorabilia piece (to replace the one in the normal package - not an additional piece).
If we repeat what we did in 2010 we would sponsor 5 players.
Alternatively we could sponser less players but take up some 'premium' packages and get some different 'prizes'?
Again this group runs as a democracy and the majority decision will determine which way we go.

From Saintbrat who can't post for whatever reason !!
would you like to put My suggestion for Sponsorship up
Please
Quote:
personally I would start with One player cost- core or rookie and once that players cost is subscribed then go another
rather than assume the group can fund the 5 automatically.

We had no real issues getting over the 4 player mark this last season.saint66au wrote:Agree with this in part, but I think maybe start with 2-3 pretty safelyEastern wrote:From Saintbrat who can't post for whatever reason !!

The last 50 odd shares ($15 each) for the 5th player were difficult.
Remember also that we had some 'core' group players (more expensive) amongst our 5 chosen.
My own personal choice is for new players each year, especially those that have no other sponsor (each player can have a maximum of 5 sponsors)

Each year I get concerned about those who pledge to buy shares and either are late payers or don't pay at all. Could we make it a rule that ALL monies pledged must be paid within 30 days of a nominated date? !!

agreed and I share with your frustration, but some are overseas and some have limited access to the internet...Eastern wrote:Each year I get concerned about those who pledge to buy shares and either are late payers or don't pay at all. Just how do you monitor that and weigh up those poster that finally pay??
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!

what if' figures
although easy enough to calculate
Development player Basic- $1450 if kept at $15 per share virtualy 100 ( 96.6) shares + Premium $1,500 = 200 ( 196.6)shares
Core Player basic $1950 = 130 shares + premium $1,500 = 230 shares
2010 we had 2 core and 3 development. so at the above prices the cost for the same 5 would be
Basic $1450 X 3 = $4,350 = 290 shares Premium $8850 = 590 shares
Core $1950 X 2 = $3,900 = 260 shares Premium $6900 = 460 shares
........................Total = 550 shares .............Total = 1,050 shares
Captain $3200 Basic ( was fully sponsored in 2010) Premium $4700
Leadership $2300 Basic Premium 3,800
from 2010 sponsorship

with in the very end- August- only about 15 shares outstanding.
ps feel free to check my accounting - I am not a mathematician.

The total cost of these 5 players is $7,750, which does not divide up exactly into the $15 shares we've had previously.
It equates to 516.66 shares @ $15

plugger, feel free to join in - it's a great sense of comraderie being a member!plugger66 wrote:I have never put in for sponsorship so it is probably none of my business but did you get all your money MM because last time I looked you were still well short which doesnt really seem fair to me.
There were a few who didn't end up paying last year - mainly posters who seemed to ahve disappeared off the forum (haven't seen them post since they asked for shares), but not enough to cause consternation.
Ultimately I ended up with more shares in my own name than I had originally anticipated - it didn't help when the prize rafle was done!!!!!!!
