The Bubble: Inside the Saints in 2010 by David Mission
Has anyone read this new book? Just saw it for the first time yesterday and thought it might be interesting, especially given David Mission is the author. Grateful for any recommendations.

Really good read.
A lot from the medical perspective - eg Riewoldt's hammy, Bake's toe - but there's a lot of
insider knowledge on last season about selection, fitness, Ross Lyon's knack of saying the right thing at the right time, especially after losses,
the loathing directed at certain media outlets (oh, one in particular) etc.

If you really are the spelling police how did you cope with the book?InkerSaint wrote:Hate to be the spelling police but it's Misson.
Oh yeah, and the book is great. Fantastic insight.
Clearly it was rushed to be released before Christmas and a fair few spelling and grammatical errors appear.
However it is a wonderful book and a great insight into how the club is run. Loved it.

Make sure you don't take your Angus and Robertson gift cards in a store and try and purchase it there!St Chris wrote:If anyone is interested in the book, I called the club shop and asked if it will be available at tonight's game, and it WON"T be.
You need to call the club and order over the phone, then you can pick it up from the merch tent.

Halfway through the book I was considering approaching the club about offering a copy editing service. Not joking.

I don't know how people can notice spelling mistakes and the like.
I've got pretty good literacy skills (IMHO) but I tend to read the words as a whole rather than letter by letter.

Here's just one quote, regarding the news that broke after Michael Gardiner was supposedly involved in a "fracas" outside a nightclub -
"Gardy probably best summed it up when he mused, 'Britain has a hung parliament and the Dow drops 1000 points in a day
but I'm still on the front page of the f...... Herald Sun."
But Caro and The Age get a whack as well.

Excellent book. I just finished reading it, wanting to get it out of the way before the season started.
I can't understand people complaining about the spelling and grammar. I'm a pedant on that type of thing and I didn't notice any errors. It was much better in that respect than the Stan Alves book where they just put in a paragraph break every five lines.
