Poor selection, but maybe hindsight makes that an easy call to make.

When is a night game up here NOT greasy? Three talls? Don't get it at all...

He actually did lay a tackle - i remember - it was on the wing during the second quarter. I thought he offered as much as Kosi.

Pathetic effort in that respect. He needs to do better, after all, he has some pace, unlike Kosi who physically cannot chase because he plays like a walking portaloo.

His form did not warrant the call up....

Lynch was bog agaist coburg, close agaist franga....better form, albeit at hb

Archer, very serviceable in the vfl

Johnson extremely good....but injured apparantly, but why did he not get a gig against essendon when stanley was clearly struggling even at vfl level

Siposs whilst far from ready like rhys, at least is in good form, he is a baby, but sometimes babies rise to the occasion....

Heyne....aweful, doesnt deserve. A gig

The big irishman as a ff to give a contest???

Raph clarke as a medium fwd?.?

Bring in another runner.......cripps??

There are options......stanley was not the correct one....perhaps we need to think outside the box

+1

Rhys needs to bulk up before he becomes a serious consideration- unless we are in total rebuild mode

I think you two are discounting the fact that some f*** head at the gabba left the sprinklers on for 5 hours during the day. I mean Roo did nothing, Kosi did nothing, Big Mac did nothing - why the he'll would Stanley be any different?

Roo did nothing....ahem.

Very good game at chf.......a large number of inside 50s in his old role outside the arc

Stanley looks absolutely miles off…
We'd all love him to be Riewoldt #2,
But for now has no presence or impact,
He's tall and fast, but alas for now is not an AFL footballer,
The lure of a super-fast ruckmen/forward has all of us champing but I have not seen him make a worthwhile contribution yet,
I would love nothing more than to see him blossom into a star but for now, picking him ahead of others that are preforming in VFL isn't sending a good message. Even the Irishman would have more impact at the moment, though he too is still only an exciting 'project player' for now.

So you're premise is that Stanley had a s*** game because the captain of the football club had a few inside 50's? if Roo is in the best tomorrow the I'll stand corrected.

What about Kosi? How much better was Kosi than Stanley?

Kosi was about as good...

Riewoldt had 17 possesions, 11 kicks, 6 marks, two contested, 1 goal, two assists...

Stanley and kosi had 1 kick between them....

Clarke and luenberger were very good at the other end

To restate the obvious...Johnson must get a game or 5, as soon as he is fit.

I think Stanley has a stack of potential, but as yet he's not anywhere near it.
Swap out for another kid.

His feelings got hurt when his opponent said that he could not play football with the grown-ups.

I note that the majority view on here on Wednesday night was that Stanley's selection was a mistake and basically a waste of a spot.

Why couldn't the relevant people at the club not see this seemingly obvious fact?

Not pleasing.

Raph was rubbish Vs Essendon and Ruchmond.

But he's black and built for the Brisbane climate together with coming from Darwin.

So should that have been a factor in maybe selecting him and dumping someone else?

Dunno.

Stanley was terrible. Where was he (prior to injury)? Strange game by him. The lad needs some touch. I'm concerned that if he is so substantially lost at this level, whether he can turn it around. Are there others who could step up? Skinny Sippos? Walsh? Johnson? Archer?
