This is what happens when you "Just play the kids"

Kid not physically ready and blows up for the year.

Hope you are all happy.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

This is serious. Similar injury crippled Rod Lester-Smith's career. Can't help thinking of how it diminished Goose as a player. Not a thing that is easily overcome. It can cause significant nerve damage. As if he needed that threat, when his diabetes is also a threat to his nerves, especially the peripheral ones such as those in his lower legs! Our luck has to change soon, doesn't it?

Very sad. With his encouraging few games this year, I am sure that the club will support him and his recovery in a very professional way.

Let's hope that he is given the time to recover 100% before putting on the boots again. As described elsewhere, it's a very serious injury, which needs careful handling. However the prognosos for recovery is quite good.

Enjoy the gym Jamie, you will benefit from it in the end.

I'm far from an expert but ironically it's possibly the gym which has provoked the onset of his compartment syndrome.

In some cases this syndrome developes in response to a fairly rapid increase in muscle tissue in a limb.

Good luck to Jamie.

He broke his leg. That led to complications, mainly from infections. I can't recall if CS followed, but leg trauma is a cause.
Yes Goose did have compartment syndrome but mainly as a result of complications associated post broken leg
Goose's injury was the first thing that came to my mind too. Let's hope he recovers better and has more luck than Goose did!

This is the kind of occasion when you realize that they players, as human beings, are much more important than just their roles as footballers.

Compartment syndrome is a very, very serious issue and I just hope he recovers as well as possible. And I am glad he will be in an organization that is committed to helping him recover 100%.

Come back, better than ever, mate!

Whether it was the nerve or the artery or both that was compressed the nerve could still become damaged. Nerves require a blood supply. Fascia is pretty solid in some parts of the body and compression isn't uncommon in the lower limb. Hopefully he mentioned it to the doctor as soon as he noticed a problem.

A lot of people who wear casts on their leg for example don't complain about minor-moderate pain and when the cast is removed the doctors find tissue necrosis.
