Zac Dawson
Absolutely monstered by Cloke tonight. Worked under the ball with ease, didn't make much of an effort at ground level. He's what, 24ish now, and still has little kid skinny arms.
Severe lack of talent and intelligence.
Get rid of him, for christs sake, get rid of him.
Or continue to persist with him and have a hole at full back for the next five years.

It's okay. We've aimed for the 5yr hole
He was so frustrating tonight! At times Dawson turned it on. He really did. Then that excitement came crashing down with his lack of reading the player. They ran into the hole and took easy marks, no contest.
He's talented, but a permanent defender? Hmmm

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

Re: Zac Dawson
Dawson may not be the next SOS, but it's obvious that our backline is not the major problem with this team.hungry for a premiership wrote:Absolutely monstered by Cloke tonight. Getting trounced in the clearances and forward fifty entries is a problem that, if solved , would go a long way to improving Dawson's performance, i.e. it wouldn't be down there so often.

Yep he is a dud bigtime. Time to go and develop another key defender.Teflon wrote:I finally realised tonight....hes not a FB and not our future Im afraid.
Its not that he was monstered - his lack of nous to read the play and just slowness in decison making is embarrassing.
We cant afford to hang on to plodders and I think hes one Im afraid.

For such a game tonight and after the flogging in the GF replay, he should have been "on" tonight rather than his switch "off". These are really excuses for a poor footballer period.saintsRrising wrote:Zac has an off and on switch.
Tonight it was off and at no time was he really in the game.
However to be fair to Cloke he was very much on his game tonight.

Why does he keep getting a game? We must start trying someone else there for god's sake. We would have been in front at half time only for him. It is getting beyond a joke now Ross, you only have to read the comments here. Most of us here are fair minded supporters but enough is enough, if he gets selected next week then I will have lost complete faith in your judgment as it will be a complete idiotic selection and if so then you are treating us as fools.

Last I checked a full back is meant to beat the full forward.plugger66 wrote:Do people actually watch our mids or it does it down back because we are just unlucky.
Sure the footy was coming in more than regularly, but did Dawson actually win a contest? Maybe one?

"rag doll you"?SainterK wrote:I asked this question elsewhere.
Is he directed to play behind, because he is never in front.
Is that a coaching directive, to spoil from behind?
Surely better playing in front of Cloke, forcing him to rag doll you, and give away a free?
Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell

OK you bunch of football genuises
I knew there'd be a Zac thread ASAP after the game..
Who else would you have played on Cloke.. Simpkin? Bakes?
We need Gwilt ( who played very well but was outbodied by Dawes twice that I saw) and Chips to be our rebounders, cant afford to have them purely as a KPP stopper
We had noone else, our defence is light and underbodied right now

well...we would have been in front at half time only for cheating umpires who gifted the last two goals of the second quarter to the filth.........bj did not throw the ball.....and polo marked it.....two goals from those efforts ...maggot assists should show up on team stats.....The Sainter wrote:Why does he keep getting a game? I was in the AFL members area and couldn't see the "throw", so I guess the TV would have proved it. The mark to Polo was definitely a mark. He controlled it and then it was punched. No doubt the whole psyche of the game changed in that last minute. Probably wouldn't have made a difference to the result but it didn't do us any good.stinger wrote:...well...we would have been in front at half time only for cheating umpires who gifted the last two goals of the second quarter to the filth.........bj did not throw the ball.....and polo marked it.....two goals from those efforts ...maggot assists should show up on team stats..

I've been a supporter of Zac over the last thee years, but there is one thing about his game that I hate and I reckon it cost him tonight. Before the game even started, he came down to take Travis Cloke and started the elbowing and whacking. This is moronic stuff. If you can't win the ball fairly, leave the game. All that happens is that he risks giving away a free or gets a double confidence whack if he is subsequently beaten in a contest - which happened about five times tonight. The moment a player takes his concentration off the ball and focuses on his opponent he is beaten. He needs to remove this part of his game pronto - and go for the ball - and do weights 23 hours a day.
had both upper arms pinned but still got fist to the ball....maggot guessed....perfectionist wrote:I was in the AFL members area and couldn't see the "throw", so I guess the TV would have proved it. You only come on here to slam players - your last offering was on Riewoldt, that they would be off without him in the side...hungry for a premiership wrote:Absolutely monstered by Cloke tonight. Up until tonight Dawson had not been too bad, Cloke would beat most FB
not to mention the ball was coming into the forward line non stop - have a look at the mids first
I would rather get rid of you than him
