I realise very little beats watching the mighty sainters live but I did have a very close second on Sat night. For any who have watched an AFL game in a bar in Bali you would realise how the place is totally overun with West Australians. Well, brave at heart, and with countless Saints caps from previous years ( thanks to all my mates who donated their old membership hats ) I and all the bargirls ( who cheerfully wore their new caps ) were totally outnumbered by the W.A. feral supporters. It obviously started off fantastically but as the match wore on the ferals got noisier and the bargirls were wondering if they should take off their caps.
No I said , keep faith in my club ( mind you by now the little green bottles were influencing my opinion!! ) Fewer times in my life have I been prouder of my football club and the bar girls are now Sainters for life.
Post script- If it hadn't been for the impecible timing of my beautiful wife I reckon it would have had an even " happier ending "!! With Saints caps on
