A new forward target

Post: # 1120045Post Saint Pup »

Most on here seem to agree that we do need another goal kicking option to real start hurting teams on the scoreboard. Last year we drafted Ryan Gamble with pick 90. I think he has turned out to be a pretty good kick up, but he is not the type of player that can play out of the goal square and kick a load of goals. I think Sippa will turn out much that same way just with more flare and class. So to fill this forward spot to we look to the state leagues and use a late pick on somebody much like Geelong did with the Jpod? Did some looking around and found a few guys that on paper look like maybe being worth a go.

I think Siposs with another years pre-season will be our man. Has already shown that he is a smart player...and has great kicking skills.

Just needs a stronger body, and better endurance.

Last nights biggest issue though was our kicking into the forward line.

Darren Ewing might need to lose a kilo or two if he wants to achieve his flying ambitions

Then we can really "butcher" the ball going into our forward line like we did last night.

I can vouch that Blake Broadhurst is very handy for Subiaco. I know it's only WAFL but he is has strong hands, is good in a contest (keeps his feet) and can kick well. He reminds me a bit of Sammy Hamill, but not as hard at the man. He would have been looked at before but this year he has improved a lot and is a key factor behind Subiaco's surge up the ladder. He is only 25 and worth consideration.

broadhurst has been great for subi and is only getting better.

the best thing that happened for subi was jack anthony getting recalled back into the dockers. gave broadhurst more room to do what he needs to do without jack getting in his way.

how tall is he though? we really need a big FF.

theres plenty of options out there, we dont have to go the re-used player path.
