Sorry Plugger, I did not realise that you actaully start this "ins & out" thread.

Won't happen again, from me at least.

On the topic, I think Bakes may get a chance as he is doing extremely well in the VFL. Also Swans does not have enough tall in the forward.

Got a strange feeling they may try to squeeze Gardy in over the next fortnight and play kosi/Gardy ruck forward and Benny rotating off the bench. Only because he got a great rap from Andy Lovell last weekend. 20 hitouts and 15 touches... but who knows.

On second thoughts maybe we leave Walsh out for another week. Fisher might be able to cover him by about 50% and that is worth the risk.

If we beat the Swans then we know we have secured a finals berth, then I would strongly suggest we don't play Walsh until the first finals game. The irish Leigh Matthews may take us to our long awaited flag.

Even though his form has never suggested he is more than a VFL footballer, the fact that Ricky Nixon said he is the Irish Wayne Carey tells us he has been foxing with his form in the VFL for the last two years, when clearly he will be one of the games greats

September in years to come will be renamed 'Tommytember'

I have nothing against Walsh but really havn't heard anything about what his form is like at VFL and why he would come into the side when he is inexperienced at AFL level and St Kilda are so close to finals.

I am guessing people are hoping???

Personally, just going off the fact he has been emergency a few times recently, and that we are too defender heavy.

If Gamble was dropped, not injured, Ross may want to play him at Sandy another week...similar to Gram, Raph and others this year.

Doesn't hurt players to think they are not a walk up start

Don't get me wrong if he has the skills get him in there but I think and going from previous choices made by Ross wouldn't think he had any chance at all.

That's why I live in townsville though I suppose and not on the coaching panel.

Give me time though.

But Walsh has been playing as a defender at Sandringham

Don't think the Swans have a very tall forward line.

Reckon Smith may be one of the emergencies.....

Would be ironic (sort of/not really?) if Walsh was selected after NOT being named in the best for Sandringham last weekend...that's been a very rare occurrence this season.

I'm thinking we might be lacking flexibility down back if Dawson and Blake are both named.

Blake was an interesting (/I wouldn't have done it but I'm not a selector) choice as sub last week, although I have the feeling the coaches were hoping he might help shut out the Collingwood forwards and assist in controlling the tempo of the game in the second half if we went into our "shut down" mode. Not sure how he'd fit in to this week's team.

Unless there are unexpected injury withdrawals, he might be the only one to come out of the side. I'd say Lynch or Gamble to come in if that's the case.

No. I would suggest that may be the first I have got right this year and I could still easily be wrong. It wasnt hard to guess when you look at last weeks emergencies.
