Re: rumour file today
Does it matter what other clubs think??saintly wrote:Fev going to the saints.
and if that happens we will be a laughing stock.
I thought Collingwood supporters were delusional when last year, they were claiming that Travis Cloke was an elite Centre Half Forward.
Sometimes you have to back your judgement and take the knocks that come along with it.
Not that I am saying that I think we should pick up Fev, but the fact that the other clubs might think we are silly isn't a valid reason for us not picking him up.
Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends.

Ok...so here is the hypothetical.
We draft Fev.
He gets fit as all hell.
Kicks 120 goals in 2012 for us.
Frees up Roo so he is taking the number 2 backman, plus is often left with one defender.
Roo kicks 50+ and takes out another best and fairest after a stellar season.
We win the flag based upon a highly competitive midfield and an outright daunting forward setup whilst maintaining our good defensive record.
Sound like a good decision?
Or...
We draft Fev.
He gets on the pyss regularly, cant get a game and has a large media blow up in the preseason after a massive night at Crown.
We give him the arse and he takes us to court claiming unfair dismissal which is upheld.
He goes on "a current affair" with some tockley shots of Ross Lyon.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Honestly I think the posative aspects outweigh the potential negatives
Sure he is a serial d**khead but he would have to know that its his last shot and our recent culture and resolve should help Fev stay in line. If Lovett, Kimmi and booze ups in NZ didnt bring us down nothing will
BANG BANG

Sorry, I only showed the forward line. Mitch Clarke is on the bench and will be rotated with Big Ben & Kosi. Salopek is on the bench with him also.stkildathunda wrote:Where does Mitch Clarke fit in?Bardon Saint wrote:saintly wrote:Fev going to the saints.

Here's another forward rumour.
Western Bulldogs forward Barry Hall retires.
Replaced by new full forward Julia Gillard on a free transfer from the Canberra Failures.

For real? I know he was a Saints fan as a lad growing up, but didn't realise he was in the CS.GrumpyOne wrote:Well...... Fev was a Saints Cheer Squad Member.....
Was he with them in the Moorabbin days by any chance? I was in the CS from around 1990-93, but I don't remember him.

I am all for it, he is a great player and I think after hitting rock bottom he can deliver for 2 to 3 years. Krakouer was in jail and comes out and makes Collingwood a better team, i think he has shown these last few months he can stay on the straight and narrow.
I love the fact he loves the Saints and this group doesnt have too many more chances, Hayes back in the middle, Fev in the goal square, Cripps, Ledger & Siposs maturing to really inject some exciting youth into our team and the Saints give it an almighty shake next year,

Fortune favours the brave... or we could just recruit another honest, ok footballer in his mid-20s who was dumped from his club.bigred wrote:Ok...so here is the hypothetical.
