The club Finances

Post: # 1143421Post Toy Saint »

Can anybody advise the state of the clubs profit & loss and balance sheet?

There is the suggestion that some clubs just have more money, and can 'buy" whatever they want, like coaches.

I'm interested to understand where St Kilda sits in the finance department. Is there anything in the public record, or can anybody offer a quick summary?

big footy had a great post on the run down of each club. they dont just look at profit and debt but also assets.

basically were no where near the top. but were not at the bottom either. but we do face some tough challenges.

we have no income outside of football and very little assets. we also had a 4 million dollar debt from memory. probably 5.5 million now that we have posted a 1.5 million dollar loss.

Poor crowds, lack of sponsors, bad stadium deal...

Two of those three could easily be improved next year, people may start turning up again (even neutrals) with a bit of x-factor returing on field, and sponsors may be able to be enticed given the general football public may switch the TV on rather than off when Saints are playing.

Hopefully our new fixture isn't impacted by another year of bad press on field wise.

One of the big reasons why Malthouse would be great for the club.
His appointment will generate excitement and bring sponsorship and more people to the football.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.
