How is that?

We just got pipped in 09 and had a 5 goal turnaround in the second half of GF1.

How many GF's did Geelong lose in the 80's and 90's before they won in 07?

Overused simplistic and just plain dumb to call the Saints chokers
f***** s***s me to tears.
WHo JM ? Me?

I have mixed emotions. Except for a bounce Collingwood would have nothing from the last two years and we would have a flag.

That will always burn me.

However for some reason seeing Collingfilth lose today has made the pain fractionally more bearable.

They never ever deserved back to back.

McGuires arrogance in getting rid of Malthouse has, I reckon disrupted them this year, and now Buckley gets a gift wrapped list from Malthouse.

Fk em, should not have a flag from last year either.

Good on you Geelong. Awesome team.
No Joffaboy, not you.

The 'Saints are losers cause they don't win the flag every single year like every other club does' brigade.
Just so we're clear. I'm not part of that brigade. I know my post in the article about our golden era being over that you said reeked of defeatism (you may have used another word other than reeked, but I'm just trying to make it obvious which post it is) seemed like I felt that way but I don't.

At the end of the day, I'm disappointed and jealous of every team that wins the flag because I want to see it but I'm still very bloody proud of this club and love it to death. I don't think we are losers if we don't win the flag. I just think the other clubs which do win played better and deserved it more.

Not sure why I'm posting this, like I need your approval of me as a poster to validate my existence (it really isn't that big a deal, a few posters on here don't like me anyway, what the hell? I won't lose any sleep over it) but I think I just didn't want people to think I'm a hypocrite who says one on thread we have a s*** history and I'm ashamed of it and on another thread says he's proud to be a Sainter.

I hate for anyone on this thread to think I'm a hypocrite.

Could not capitalise....didnt get the job done...

Geelong did
We smashed a long standing record that day.
No other team (up till then) had had such a big half time I50 differential and lost.

I think it shows going back to back is really really hard.
Cats coulld not do it. Pies could not do it.

2 play offs for the saints must have taken their toll. In reality we were never a chance this year.

Can we bounce back for one last shot next year or do we concede the moment has gone and we need ro rebuild?

I really don't know the answer to this.

We'll give it a crack next year. Whether or not we're close or not? Who knows. If we drop further I can't see BJ staying into 2013. If we are top 4, or win it, then he'll probably stay and we'll eke out another tilt with this group in 2013.

Ok that's enough. 2011 is over, time to move on to 2012. Close the thread!
