Our team against Sydney was younger and less experienced.
True, but they also would certainly have had Menzel in there as well, had he not done his knee a couple of weeks ago. And Vardy was in West's spot until he got injured.
Scott spoke about this last night on "On The Couch" and said the "4 under 50 games each week" thing was a goal, but not a hard and fast rule. But it was still a gutsy pre-season goal, for someone that was also hoping to win the flag. He showed how to have one eye on the present and also develop your list for the future.
What was also gutsy was the way they rotated their team on just about a weekly basis, which was also a plan all along. Anytime any of us has suggested anything along these lines in the past couple of years, for us, we've been ridiculed by the self appointed "sages" on here, who have told us things like "you don't change a winning team", as if there's only one way to skin a cat.

Well, their theory has just been blown out of the water, if they thought it was the only way to be successful, as they also reported last night that Geelong made an average of 3.6 changes
per week this season. Despite winning 22 of their 25 games. Most of them not caused by injury or suspension. So, despite Collingwood having the extra fitness and endurance from their high altitute training, they were able to run out the game far better and looked like they could just keep going and going.
Very well played Scott. Hopefully some on here with closed minds will learn something from the way they went about things.
YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.
