Me too. Surely we could also give him a back-ended contract if it came to that. Or re-negotiate someone else's contract so that they get less next year and more the year after, or whatever. Where there's a will, there's always a way to make things happen.

Surprised to read so many people eager to see Gram go. Arguably should have been the club's first Norm Smith Medallist and still very handy, particularly in light of Gwilt being out for 2012 with a knee. Kicking skills aren't always great but could be worked on. Fair enough if the club need room in the salary cap, but pick 40 would be just plain ridiculous.

attitude and consistency are problems for Gram but reckon he improved a lot in second half of season. personally be happy to see him stay.

Very important player to us....Gram

Who else do we play as a Running Back?
Geary, Winmar, Raph, Ray....not sure any of those have set the world on fire....

None finished in the top ten of the B&F

On the HBG average for gram....have a glance at all HBF vs Midfield stats for HBG ratio.....

Gram going depends on what we are offered....

A good pick/player/preferbaly a mid......Id do it while Gram has a shred of currency.

We need to be smart and save cap space - players like Gram are coverable. Guys like Dal aint for example.

Gram gives us (occasional) run, odd goal from outside 50 and mixed with that poor disposal.

IF we could up that for a mid that can run/win his own ball and be an upgrade on Gram skill wise/youth wise you would be mad not to look at that.

don't believe the hype that walsh wants out. he is actually happy to be a saint and was stoked to be told he would be promoted and a senior list player.

problem is swans have offered 70% more
yep, that's what I said. You said that he had signed.

Do you think if Walsh isn't traded tomorrow, it means he will most likely stay?

A new, young, vibrant coach, plus a complicated pathway to the Swans, would swing the odds back in our favour you'd think.

A $50,000 pay rise in the hand is worth $70,000 in the bush... and that's not code.

Thanks MC. Some of us are smart enough to realise those that have genuine sources and appreciate the info. That makes it all cool if it's only 70% more. Tommy can't be on a big amount you'd think so if we waved goodbye to someone like Gamble that would be enough to cover a first year player and give Tommy an extra 40% or so. Most people will stay at the workplace they like for a substantial rise and forego an even more substantial rise that creates a major disruption - it's human nature. If the choice was between Tommy and Gamble, sorry Ryan, but I wish you all the best in your future.
problem is gamble is on bigger all.
the salary cap is full and players are not signed.

No doubt the money is a real factor. But so is the opportunity.

I don't think Tommy really wants to spend a third consecutive year running around in the VFL. Although spots need to be earned, he needs to at least feel he's a chance to be selected. I would suggest the Swans have already given him some assurances.

Now, what can Scott say to inspire the Irishman?

I wonder how much say Watto has on Tommy, or if it's all CP's call.

If Walsh simply refuses to sign a new deal and is dead set on going to the Swines I seriously hope we actually get something this time and we dont have another Luke Ball situation.

Obviously my preferance is for him to stay but if he just wont you would want to hope that Pelchin and Watters will organise a fair trade

Scotty just said on TWR that Tommy Bhoy is off the trade table and that he sees him playing a lot of footy for St Kilda over the next 12-24 months.

He says he believes Tommy has massive leadership potential.

Good news, and hopefully he decides he wants to stay and fight for his place.

Gwilt out for 2012? Source?

Geez it pisses me off that a pick 30 would have pleased so many people.

If we had traded Ball for pick 30. The sooks and simpletons would not be complaining about getting nothing. They would be complaining about gets next to nothing.

Walsh can walk if Sydney decide to offer up rubbish. When recruited he was nominated as a first rounder. 3 clubs are interested. Trying his luck in the draft would be a massive risk.
