ok I understand they couldnt appoint any until the head coach position was settled.
All this talk about Ayres and Laidley as possible assitants / Coaching Director etc .. nothing.
how many positions are still vacant ?

The Age reporting that Laidley will be announced this week as a snior assistant with a Director of Elite Performance & an Academy Director to be added.
McPhee, Graham to be aligned with the Academy & Sandy.
Sounds like Kingsley stays on (which is great for some continuity)
Minor roles such as ruck coach to be added (I hope Gardy gets a run at this).
Very very positive announcements that make this pre season very exciting.

Love to see Maxy come back to the club as defensive coach. Bumped into him at a milk bar on Hampton St during the week of the build up to the Grand Final Replay last year and he said that he would've loved to have stayed at the Saints but nothing was offered.
Made a point of saying to me that he really hoped that St. Kilda barrackers didn't think he was disloyal, and when I said that I wouldn't be wishing him luck for the replay, he laughed and said - of course not, no way.
He asked me if I had tickets for it, I said yeah, but got the impression that he might have at least tried to help me to get tix if I hadn't been able to.
Great St. Kilda clubman, fantastic defender, excellent person.

I want a full clean fresh start with no links to past coaches or players at our club.
It's a new beginning outside our best 22 that still remain.

I agree, like Harvs, we can't appoint Max because he was a past champ, and it is a fresh positve start which we need after thd Lyin yearssaintspremiers wrote:Disagree.WinnersOnly wrote:Agreed a SAINTS person is a must !
