When I suggested that he was a candidate for delisting earlier in the year, the notion was scoffed at, as I was informed he had a contract and clubs wont delist players under contract...

He may well be rookied, but at this stage it seems he has been cut....with a year to run on contract.

Congratulations. Your notion was correct.

If it pleases everyone, can we all give BigMart a collective pat on the back

What did you base it on Mart - I haven't seen any of him except for the NAB cup he played (I think).

Obviously Heyne didn't have a contract or the club would have explained the situation...

There was recent debate about it between 2 know alls as to who knew more which typically amounted to SFA.

If he wasn't contracted most would have expected him to be delisted.

If he is contracted most expected him to be rookied. However he can't be rookied without first being cut.

So surely what has happened is what the majority have thought all along

It didnt take rocket science to work it out....that he was in the s***

after three years on the list, he found himself in the Sandy Reserves...not a good sign....he wasnt in the best for Sandy in any game in the front half of the year....

Thats OK for an 18yo (crocker??) or a Rookie (Curran??)
but not a 21yo in his third season

What I was bemused about
was being told that I was wrong....yet again, by all knowing experts..

He actually ended the season better....playing a lot higher up the ground..

Not enough substance in his game.....and not brilliant enough to be a highlights man...

a pity the academy happened too late for him. if he is rookied by us he might still become a player with increased development by the saints.

I can 100% assure you that Nick Heyne did NOT have a contract and he will NOT return to the Saints

Ummmm...exactly how many people would not have had Heyne as being on thin ground at the start of 2011?

I mean 2010 was not exactly bursting with promise...

Heyne was gone by mid-2010. Never resembled anything like an AFL player

Not sure I made myself clear

I (along with loads of others) thought Heyne may be delisted.....that was not the point

It was the fact that the idea was completely shot down.....and I even had to provide other examples of players who were delisted with a contract still running....

Why is it that when a thread starts and someone asks a serious question it's easier to carry on with nonsense than answer the question?

What was the question?

Thought this was just another look at me ego pissing contest.

Wasn't Eddy delisted with a contract? What about Allen? McQualter maybe?

Dont know, but why even start a thread about this unless you have an out of control ego or self esteem issues?

Lance or James??

The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)
