goosebumps. every time. that goal makes footy worth following for me.
Love it! :P

Thing about Troy is he wasn't a walk-up start to the team and worked extremely hard on his game (particularly defensively). Took his chances under GT when the team was decimated by injury and bed down his place in the team upon their return.

Great clubman.

At the Sorrento pub.
Only couple whispers down here in Sorrento that he might have left the club. Nothing big though, but given fact he was applying for AFL part time roles it might have some credit to it.

he was an ok player ironing out his game when Lyon cut him at the latest possible time for the purpose of making a statement IMO

that was the first sign of an erratic character as it would turn out

Another one shafted by Lyin'

Great athlete, great clubman...but very limited player. So let's not reinvent history shall we.
I thought he was under-rated actually. Had pace and height and a real passion for his football. But that's just my opinion.

Lyin' did shaft him though though I can't remember for which recycled hack.
As I stated he was a great athlete......great clubman...but not the best at reading the play.

I don't mean any disrespect, but he was a solid GOP.

However TS 40 played 7 + 11 games in each of his last 2 years at the club, and yet it was Lyon who shafted him?

I think he was on the chopping block regardless who was going to coach us in 2007.

But he would probably make a good assistant coach...so I would welcome him back.

GT obviously thought something of him. Was it Doc Clarke we shafted him for?

Is that why GT only played him in 18 games in his last two years?

At 190cm 40 was not going to play ruck.

Raph, Gilbert, Demspter etc were who squeezed him out.

Likes TS40, I was at that game, will never forget.

I don't think I've seen the crowd go as nuts in a home and away game ever.

Everyone was standing and jumping.

We needs a ruck and what we had at that stage wasn't capable of even coming close to matching it with the better teams.

Yes Clarke did not pay off however Lyon addressed a need that we had.

From memory TS40's manager instructed him to either reject or wait for a better offer from the football club however it never came and TS40 was of the belief/understanding that other clubs would pick him up anyway?

A poor situation for all however that's life, that's Hinch.

Well if true welcome back TS40.

Two points.

TS was booed at the 2004 Wizzy Cup by our own supporters. Sitting at the game with my Bulldogs supporting bro-in-law listening to that was one of the most embarrassing times I have ever had as a Sainst supporter.

I think thats why I get so defensive towards our scapegoats like Raph. I really detest gutless supporters who do things like boo a player who has just help us win a very rare cup of any kind

As for Lyon supposedly "shafting" TS. Umm ALL coaches "shaft" players. Watters will "shaft" players. A bit revisionist to have a go at Lyon when he was doing the job he was paid to to, i.e. get us to a GF so we can have a shot at a flag.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Limited may be, but far more useful than a few who have played in recent Grand Finals for us.
