Siposs started quite well, this game looking more promising so far, but still pressing very far up the ground.

Siposs looking very good on the wing.
Ledger will play every game of 2012.
Cripps a little quiet, was hoping he'd be a prolific rebounder.
Ross looks ok but not as big as I thought he'd be, probably a year or two away.
Saad looks food to go.
Milera has a bit of class but too slight, probably doesn't have the intensity.
Winmar can kick the footy.
Milne is Milne.
Simpkin will be our first choice defender.

Re: NAB Cup Rd 1 Official match thread
I'm pumped!
We are dominating a Geelong minus all the baldies and half the premiership side.
I'm so excited we can still win the nab cup provided we win this game (according to Gerard!).

Re: NAB Cup Rd 1 Official match thread
What's the point of a goal line review without a goal line camera or two?
Surely something like those two cameras channel 10 tried out last year is needed if you're going to have a review system.

ROUND 1 NAB CUP REVIEW
The Great:
Saad - what a great pick up he looks to be, knows how to find the goals and is lightening quick with great forward pressure
Ledger - This kid looks great!! won heaps of the ball and was equally skilful on both sides of his body!! reminds me abit of lenny
Simpkin - Was super impressed when he played in game 2. Great kick, composed, clean and speedy from defence.Has great closing speed to get a spoil in on the lead abit like maxy did.
The Good
-Young fellas didnt seem out of place - granted they werent up against the best opposition.
- armo, steven, stanley all seem to have improved and should add to our side.
-Quick ball movement was great, not very much of the stopping, chipping, defensive grind we have been used too. At times our transition from defence to attack was lightening quick e.g milera goal
The Bad
- If Mcevoy goes down i think we will be in a bit of strife.Stanley rucked well in patches but he isnt a full time ruckmen.
- Bombing it blindly under pressure. too many times we just happened to punt the ball and not look were it was going.
The Ugly
- Our transition defence.Jesus sydney destroyed us and constantly had loose players running into open goals.I think maybe dropping a second man back off our zone should help rectify this.
- kicking the ball into the pockets. There nothing kicks, and they make scoring so hard. Every time we are forward of the centre we should be trying to put it in the centre corridor.
FYI; i know this is only round 1 of the nab cup. Im not worried infact i saw alot of positives. the kids we have coming through look good and with games will all improve. Our guns are looking fit. Roo took a couple of good marks and moved well.Bj was getting into the game towards the end.
Things look much better then september last year so if you haven't signed up, I think you should!! GO SAINTERS!!
