The Peter Jackson VFL will be returning to TV screens in 2012 with AFL Victoria today announcing the continuation of the 25 year relationship with ABC TV.

The Peter Jackson VFL will once again be broadcast each and every Saturday afternoon at 1pm, allowing football fans to get their Saturday afternoon fix of State League football as they have done since 1987.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The familiar names such as Peter Donegan, Ross Booth, David Rhys Jones, Darren Boyd and Phil Cleary will again join Peter Jackson VFL fans every Saturday during the home and away season, with coverage on Saturday and Sunday during the Acacia Finals Series. The ABC have also committed to broadcasting this year’s State League match at Blundstone Arena (Bellerive) between the Tasmanian State League and the VFL on May 26.

In a change from previous years, ABC ‘match of the round’ broadcast games will be announced on a monthly basis. AFL Victoria hopes to announce the first month’s coverage in the next week, with the fixtured time for those games to change to 1:10pm.

ABC TV will start their coverage of the Peter Jackson VFL for season 2012 on Saturday March 24.

While it has been widely acknowledged as ideal for a club to have its own reserves team, financial constraints have meant all Victorian clubs bar the Magpies and Cats have steered clear of the move.

But Watters said sticking with the Zebras was not simply due to the bottom line.

"That's not the consideration and we think the set up can work well," he said.

"We've put a lot of work in so far to make sure we optimise the results we get for our players who play there but also the Sandringham Football Club."

The Saints have made a concerted effort to develop its fan base throughout Bayside Melbourne in the past few years and Watters said the alignment with Sandringham was a crucial part of that campaign.

First ABC games for 2012
Round 1 Coburg Tigers vs Northern Blues

Round 2 Port Melbourne vs Werribee

Round 3 Collingwood vs North Ballarat

Round 4 North Ballarat vs Williamstown
agree with comments I've read elsewherer where it is hopd the ABC cover each team atleast once early on
and don't only do Pies, Blues and cats.

I got my suits from PJ's Bourke St store opposite McEwans in the 60's. Used to get my haircut there as well in those days.

Sandy lost by two points after leading by 45 points at qtr time and again by 45 points at 3/4 time. All the scoring done to one end

Curren 24 touches..Ross slight knock to the knee but is fine. Rested in 2nd half...as was Raph

Curren, Minchinton and Denell the best of the Saints boys (thanks to the True Zebs crew for this info)
