Jackson Ferguson
I just noticed that Ferg has only just turned 19.
Ferguson, Jackson - 23.10.92
Looks very promising considering he could have played TAC last year. He would have blitzed that comp. Could be = to a first rounder.
194cm athletic bloke who can kick.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
Seriously doubt that he would be 1st rounder as he is still learning the game, as he was from the NSW scholarship.Con Gorozidis wrote:I just noticed that Ferg has only just turned 19.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
I know. But my point is he is still very young and was playing senior vfl last year. TAC would have been pretty easy for him in comparison.saintly wrote:Seriously doubt that he would be 1st rounder as he is still learning the game, as he was from the NSW scholarship.Con Gorozidis wrote:I just noticed that Ferg has only just turned 19.

He is a rookie and as such cant really play anyway. His body is also a fair way off firsts footy. They are probably looking at a round one side and there is no way he would ne ready.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
And didn't help that last year was his first in the system and he missed a good chunk of it through injury.plugger66 wrote:SainterK wrote:Why isn't he playing in the NAB cup, is he injured?

Re: Jackson Ferguson
As as I said - he is plenty young.
So we can be patient with him. I think he might be a goodun.

Well it would be nice to get at least one player out of the NSW Scholarship programCon Gorozidis wrote:As as I said - he is plenty young.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
Sorry P66 but rookies can play NAB Cup. And plenty have. Your comment suggests he can't play because he is a rookie. He may not be ready yet, but being a rookie doesn't exclude him from selection. Magner has made quite an impression in the NAB Cup for Melbourne as a rookie.plugger66 wrote:SainterK wrote:Why isn't he playing in the NAB cup, is he injured?

Sorry to pull you up, I know you are generally pretty spot on. Please be gentle.

Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.
Re: Jackson Ferguson
Given our lack of fullback I'm very surprised he didn't get a look in this year. Scott must be confident with what we've got but seems like a missed opportunity.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
He wore number 32 for Sandy last week and played very well. I seem to remember p66 suggesting at this time last year that Ferg and Winmar look like playing plenty of games for St Kilda. I agreed and they will.plugger66 wrote:SainterK wrote:Why isn't he playing in the NAB cup, is he injured?

JF only just turned 19. so he is the same age as siposs and younger than the all the other 2nd year players. at 194cm he needs another year to bulk up.
2013 he will be ready to go at afl level for a full season.

Re: Jackson Ferguson
Interesting to see him standing next to Gilbo in the team photo in the paper today. Was looking clearly taller than Sam (by about an inch), even they're both listed at 194cm. Considering how quick and athletic Jacko is, it's a really good sign, especially if he happens to be still growing. Have a very good feeling about him, as very few of his size do as well as he supposedly did, as young as he was, early last year (when he got off to a really good start with Sandy reserves and seniors).
YOU GET WHAT YOU SETTLE FOR.
