With the Filth's appointment of Lynch, it looks like the Grape Ape will be looking for a new club.

I take it there'll be no interest coming our way?

he isn't a spare ruckman / forward he is only good as a big lummox planted deep to pull in a few marks and bring the smalls into play. I would look at him if it cost us f all but collingwood will probably want 13 first round draft picks and Dal, lenny and Rooey as compo.

What was wrong with Zac Dawson? This one still stumps me.
Like Ross & BJ, he basically wanted more money than we could pay him.
Not entirely accurate if they handed out new contracts to Peake and Polo in November last year...

Im happy with Wilkes.
Id prefer Dawes over Kosi - but we are stuck with Kosi for another year unfortunately.

But yeah - id take dawesy if he came cheap for sure. Nice replacement for Kosi once he (finally) goes.

The Rock Ape is on 375k a season. The bloke kicked 16 from 23 games please and Collingwood have no salary cap issues.

It's not salary cap issues, I think he is offended with the money he has taken and now what Lynch is getting.

Sorry Con, for a moment there I thought you used the words "if he came cheap" in a post about a Collingwood player.

Chris Dawes took the biggest speccy at the practice match between the saints and the pies at the start of the year but no don't think we should chase him. Epic speccy though if anyone else saw it!!!!

Wasn't it a NAB Cup game?

I couldn't make that game and didn't hear any reports on Grape Ape's mark.

seen that and on that game alone i would defiantly have him on the team given the right price. Never really rated him hugely but he is just so big an when he gets going is unstoppable reminded me alot of the gtrain in that game

One thing you always hear consistently about Chris, is that he is a good kid...smart, stable, works really hard.

Dunno, I reckon Neeld will get him to compliment Clarke.

Dawes is a decent player who had a bad season.
Will most likely only improve and i'd have him if the price was right.

Also, those taking a pot shot at Maxwell, seriously open the other eye.
He is no world beater but he is an above average AFL player who captains the biggest team in the competition and just happens to be renouned for his leadership. Even Luke Ball said he was the best leader he had played with.
Other than being a good leader he can obviously play, he wouldn't be in the AFL if he couldn't, and if i'm being very honest i've seen him play more than a few good games.
We've got worse.

I thought it was a strange comment from Ben Niall (Dawes' Manager) on Trade Week Radio to say that he had a great relationship with Scott Watters... Why would he mention that?

I'm not particularly keen for Dawes, but not particularly against him either, depending on what we would have to give up. I'd be keener on chasing Caddy and a key back.

I would say definitely not, however I said the same about Hawkins 2 years ago, so I must have no idea.

I think he was trying to divert attention away from saying he had a good relationship with Neeld, I could be wrong though.

I would think Dawes will end up at Melbourne or Carlton.

Bulldogs should also chase him but I would think Melbourne and Carlton have the bigger $$$

Oh god, please don't let collingwood get pick 4 for two average footballers, that can't be right. Hopefully Melbourne are forced to use their first pick on Viney.

Playing along, if that were true, and hey, Dreamon's have been pretty dumb for pretty long, so could well be true...

Quick Pelican, we gotta get Wellingham and Dawes (remind him of his relationship with Cuddles), and then palm 'em off to the Dreamons for that pick 4.

Then, it's pick 12 or 13... who cares which, let 'em choose, they'd probably pick 13, but hey, 12 wouldn't matter either coz they'd only 'weed out' for us someone who will be dud with that pick 12 anyway...and in return we'll have Chip Frawley thank-you very much.

Don't think the Dreamons could be that dumb? Look at what they squandered all those early picks they tanked so hard for... rabble.

Besides, it seems the silly season this year, what with Effn'dum paying $80000000000K and 4 years for a past-his-prime-half-back-flanker (thank-you, thank-you Effn'dum!)... opportunities abound...

Unusual that someone would defend Captain Sourpuss on a Saints fan forum :?

Lol, Melbourne giving up pick 4 for a B-grade midfeilder and and a forward that can't take a mark

If that happens, it will go down as one of the dumbest trades of recent times
