Adam Schneider
I believe he can be our new half back...
Milera, Milne, saad, TLD as small forwards
It's not the worst idea with his precise kicking and general football smarts and an all of a sudden abundance of small forwards!

Re: Adam Schneider
Have said this all year. He's an absolute special to go into defence.
Reads the play well, great kick...plus we have Saad, Milera, TDL up forward.
Send him back and he can be our Guerra*

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Re: Adam Schneider
I swear Schneider was one of our better forward tacklers...
Plus he's smart and can kick and doesn't like helicopter torpedoes

Checked and he's averaged 3.4 in 2010
3.8 in 2011 and 3.5 in 2012.
Good for a forward

Re: Adam Schneider
No he wont play back IMO. We keep wanting to move better players from our forward line to move worse players in. Maybe those worse players dont play or they are tried back. You always have your better players forward of centre if they can play there.
Re: Adam Schneider
We currently have
Gwilt, Dempster, Fisher, Simpkin, Geary, Gilbert, Sipposs, Ray and quite probably a state leagues full back to come in - in short no.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: Adam Schneider
He wasn't that good when he did go down there during his career. He seems to be the type who needs to go for goal or loses interest. I would seriously look at Sherman. s*** bloke but apparently we don't mind them -but was a gun running the ball out at the Lions.

GT insisted that he be a small forward.
He failed there but GT never tried him in defence.

One of the the best kicks & decision makers at the club. I like him closer to goals.

Re: Adam Schneider
We had a man by the name of Austin Jones back then across half back... Probably the best kick of a footy I've seen.ace wrote:Guerra was once ours.evertonfc wrote:Have said this all year. He's an absolute special to go into defence.

Re: Adam Schneider
I think it would be pretty funny to see Schneider defend someone. While he would be pretty good from an attacking POV, his lack of height and defensive capabilities leave too much to be desired. And despite losing Gram we still have plenty of half-back flankers.

Wing half foward, too dangerous as a goal kicker, NDS on the other hand would be awesome there.

He would be more awesome as an onballer.
Re: Adam Schneider
I have pondered and posted this idea in the past, I to believe some experimenting with Schneider as a hbf in the off season could be a good idea. I never would have believed guerra or Davis would make it as defenders but they did, Rhys Shaw another one who has surprised in this position, and Yarran.
Good decision maker, good vision, good skills, might be a good fit!
Don't believe that playing your best payer in front of centre is a steadfast rule in modern footy sorry plug

Re: Adam Schneider
He'd be fantastic with the footy across half back but would be an absolute defensive liability, Despite his talent, he's still a fragile midget with poor fitness and no overhead game. You could argue a case for having him as a spare man back, but you'd rather have a Fisher/Siposs type who can take intercept marks and get in the way of opposition forwards.
I think Schneids will be a loose midfielder in 2013. If he can build his tank, drop some KGs and manage his hamstring issues I think he could be a very handy 20 possession link up player. Gram and Gilbert have played this role a fair bit recently, but I'd much rather someone who can kick. Schneider is probably the smartest guy at the club with ball in hand, so if he could get loose and be the go-to-guy for giving the hands off around the midfield he would be very damaging. I can't see him being a small forward anymore with Milne and Saad in the team and TDL, Minchington and even Shenton on the list.

I think in Wattersville all the smaller guys can play midfield, wing, forward etc. Daisy Thomas and Sidebottom, Beames and Wellingham etc were all expected to have a go on ball but then rest up at times out wide where they could jag a goal or two while there. I think thats what he has in mind guys like Schnides.
