Every year, when the fixture is released, my father and I go through each game individually together and we both tip either a win, loss or draw, which we mark down in pencil. Thought it might be an idea to pass this tradition onto Saintsational, if anyone's interested, because 1.) it will be interesting to see how everyone's expectations sit at this stage and whether or not they are in line with what we see in the actual season, and 2.) surely it will be an almighty feather in the cap for whoever so happens to get the most results right, no doubt bragging rights for the next year will be secured!

My feeling is that we've had reasonable luck with injuries the past two years, so it might be time for that to run out, which suggests we won't win many line-ball ones. Given a tough run from rounds 4-8, if we don't beat Richmond in round 2 then we'll be in serious trouble.

Looking at the opposition, I don't see any real improvement from Essendon, Carlton and Brisbane or North. I just can't quite work out how we will go though..we at least should have a bit more goal-kicking power and that can get us over the line in close games regardless of the backline not being a powerful unit. Maybe 13 or 14 wins..seems possible to me.

Richmond will be more difficult to beat than Essendon. Richmond's midfield is going to be one the best in the league. Essendon's is stagnating. I fancy our chances against Geelong.
