6 day break theory.
With the Hawks pumping the Eagles after a 6 day break, is it fair to say that we cant use that as an excuse any more?
Re: 6 day break theory.
and not sure that the 14 day break the eagles had really helped them either this early in the season

Re: 6 day break theory.
6 day break had nothing to do with our loss.
Umpiring and huge amount of clangers did.

Re: 6 day break theory.
In 2004 we had a five day break after playing Richmond in Easter Monday and playing adelaide in adelaide on Saturday night. We tired off slightly towards the end allowing them to come back a bit but still held on and kicked three clutch goals (all by Gehrig) to win by 15 points.
In a post I made earlier I said six day breaks mean nothing. That's unfair and untrue. They don't mean nothing but at the same time, a loss like we had on Friday cannot simply be blamed on recovery or a six day break coming back from travel. I will admit it probably had something to do with it but I would rather blame the fact we just did not take our chances. On Fineys final siren last night, he was saying that saints dominated the opening eight minutes and kicked 1.1 with the ball primarily played forward of centre. That's the problem.
Hawthorn and Geelong both made archery of the six day break theory as both teams ran out their games better than their opposition, hawthorn kicking right goals to three in the last and Geelong coming from 41 points down to beat north.

I think thats the point, that clangers, i.e skill level is decreased due to fatigue, i.e 6 day breaks. Yes?saintspremiers wrote:6 day break had nothing to do with our loss.
