If we are bringing Kosi back in we may as well just give up nowBigMart wrote:Blake had 5 kicked on him by three opponents.... Not sure if his quality back up ruck work can keep him in...
Maister is close to being a reasonable player.... Just doesnt quite cut it.... Trier but
My call
In Simpkin, Kosi
Out Maister, Blake
Or
Stanley backs up the ruck from the back half
Blake out !!

Re: Blake out !!
Why does he need to hold the arm or the jumper when we've got like 4 players surrounding him.. It's so frustrating
Re: Blake out !!
If he has to play because nobody is forcing him out, it's hardly his fault.
I keep hearing Simpkins name, but unless he is doing everything right on and off field, he can wait.
Wish Jacko was fit and firing.

Crap. You don't want to save him anything. You're making some petty point in a stupid internet forum stand-off. If you post something on here anyone else has the right to comment or quote.

Re: Blake out !!
Time for Jason to join Kosi at Sandy, he's becoming a liability, and is useless in the ruck.

Re: Blake out !!
It was funny
He'd have some goals kicked on him..... Rhys would go to that player and stop them
Then he'd have some goals kicked on him by another player....... Then Rhys would have to go to that player
And so on....

Happy with Blake, bar the shirt and arm pulling - gets seen far too easily.

If he hadn't got injured, you don't think he'd have been elevated with the injuries to Fisher, Dempster, Gwilt?BigMart wrote:Jackson is not even on the list?

Re: Blake out !!
From what I saw of Jackson F in the NAB he's still got a fair way to go. Rhys on the other hand is fast becoming our most important player to keep on the park.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: Blake out !!
WTF is Hickey in this equation?
2 weeks?
2 weeks?
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....
Re: Blake out !!
CJ was solid when the rest of team was poor (the last two weeks) but had a quiet one today in a soft game which didn't mean much. He has to stay in next week because I think he's setting a good example of workrate and spread, and only goes out when a kid in the midfield legitimately displaces him.Toy Saint wrote:And whilst we're 'retiring' some loyal servants, does anybody see an ongoing role for Clint Jones?

Re: Blake out !!
What if McEvoy gets injured early in the game - who plays ruck? Blake will have to do for the moment
Maister is doing his job. Because he's a competent overhead mark, the opposition have to pay attention to him and it means Riewoldt is not double-teamed.
Get up close and watch the hard running and the ferocious attack on the ball by Jones. That's why he gets a game. How many other tough taggers do we have on our list? I understand people's frustration, but we all know we lack midfielders, and anyone with Jones' speed and endurance is an asset at the moment.
Kosi's serious lack of leg speed means that he cannot put on any defensive pressure. He's actually slower than Blake and from an endurance perspective, he's usually cooked by half time.
Jackson Ferguson is a tall flanker, like Roberton. Key position may be beyond him. I know Blake is shorter than Ferguson, but he's also shorter than Gilbert, so it's not just about height.

Re: Blake out !!
As long as Scott doesn't play him on Fletcher.
It would be about as unfair as getting Ryan Gamble to, or Tom Lynch...hopefully Scott pays him more respect than Ross did.

Re: Blake out !!
It's his ability to give Mac a chop out and provide a contest in the ruck, even tho he doesn't win the hit outs. Saying that, we need to come up with another option cos he's a lability down back. He's consistently giving the opposition free shots at goal, and our weak link down back.dragit wrote:So… Blake had 2 hitouts on Saturday…
If he is keeping Simpkin out of the side because of his rucking abilities, we have a problem.
Re: Blake out !!
He is doing his best in a situation that wasn't his creating.
We needed to draft more KPP's the last two years.
I don't want to play two ruckman, I've been consistent on the fact that the second ruck should be able to push forward and be a threat.

Re: Blake out !!
True. Blake is being asked to do more than he should due to lack of support, as is Gwilt thanks to the lack of KPP recruiting and development. There is nobody else on the list who could slot into the backline at this point of time and play on bigger forwards, so let's get off Blake's back for a while- he's no champion but he will give his all.SainterK wrote:He is doing his best in a situation that wasn't his creating.
